“I was craving pho while I was at the Davis Hospital, in which my wife had just given birth. I needed a place to relax. I thought to myself “what better way to relax than to eat pho?”. I’m usually pretty picky when it comes to pho, but seeing the reviews on here I had to try for myself. I think what I was impressed with the most was the speedy service. Right when you walk in, they take your order and then give you a seat. Let me tell you, before I got to my seat, the waitress already had my drink and my condiments on the table ready. I sat for no more than two minutes, and my plate was ready and served. Talk about excellent customer service. I 10 out of 10 recommend this place.”

“Distinctive & unexpected location but attractive, comfortable setting inside & out (we dined inside because too hot for the attractive patio during our visit but I imagine it would be quite pleasant in moderate & cooler weather). The portion was larger than I expected for the combo plate and nacho fries. It had great flavor and was a good deal for the price. They had a nice salsa variety, too. I'd eat here again.”

There is way to little parking. DONT PARK ON THE STREET. Even though there are no markings on the street not to do it (right out front) the parking patrol crooks of the city will still ticket you.”

“Nice place for drinks and snacks. I liked the warm, fresh boba at the bottom of my cup - not too sweet. Popcorn chicken was tasty too. I appreciated that they did not close the lid, so it didn’t get soggy and moist.

Minus one for cleanliness. Crumbs on tables…The stuffed animals looked like they needed to be in the laundry last week.

“I didn’t expect to enjoy a steak from a Chinese restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised. My Brazilian friend wanted steak at 11AM and most steak restaurants weren’t open. We saw a picture of a steak om google maps and decided to try it. Not only was the steak very tasty, and Brazilian approved, but the whole meal was very inexpensive. Give it a try.”

“Ok Davis… I finally found the spice at Kathmandu Kitchen and I’m not being dramatic when I say they actually understood the assignment. Asked for extra spicy and they delivered… real heat, not the polite version. Yessss. Menu is super veg and vegan friendly with everything clearly labeled, so ordering was easy. Tried a few things and everything hit, plus service was warm and on it. Solid 4 stars and I will 100% be back when I need that spice fix.”

the cafe was pretty small, all the seating was outside at tables and benches. it had a window that opened directly into the varsity theater next door, which was pretty neat. the place smelled like popcorn :)”

“Cafe Bernardo (Davis) is that easy brunch spot where you meet a friend, lose track of time, and suddenly you’ve been there forever. Order at the counter, grab a seat, and it somehow still feels relaxed and taken care of. Tons of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options and everything’s labeled, which I appreciate. Pro tip… talk to the cashier. They can tweak a lot more than what’s listed. I ended up with a grain bowl that was actually good good and an iced tea that hit.

The space is really cute with indoor outdoor seating, even if I’ll admit the Sacramento location has a little more personality. Service here though? So solid. Friendly, helpful, and patient with all the questions. I do think table service would level it up, but honestly we had a great time and didn’t miss it that much. Easy, reliable, and a yes for a casual brunch catch up.”

“The sandwiches here are varies and creative. It's the various sauces and accoutrements that give them their distinctive flavors, rather than different meats. Their meat are chicken and pastrami. Their choices of vegetarian sandwiches are large and the ones I have eaten have been very good.”

“This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Davis and I come here often. It's easy to access from the highway, with a decent parking lot, and ample outdoor seating. You line up right inside to counter order and they'll hand you a number stand, then they bring your food out to you when it's ready. There's a self-service tortilla chips and salsa bar in the back, and you can choose from any of the self-serve drink dispenser options (including the horchata) if you get a fountain drink (a la carte or as part of the daily special). I love how fast the food comes out and it's my go-to restaurant when I'm in a rush. I've had their tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchilada specials, etc and they've tasted great every time. I highly recommend it!!”

Tried the tart plain as the test as to whether I’d like anything else on the menu, and it was deliciously tart, creamy, and mildly sweet, which checked all of my personal boxes and made me feel even less guilty about having sweets. The entire store was extremely tidy and welcoming, and the staff was very friendly, making the experience easy from start to finish.”

“The outback setting feels like a movie set from the 80s or 90s and I’m into it. You order first, grab a spot, and they bring everything out in to-go containers… not my favorite move for dine-in, but this is a busy college town spot so clearly it works for them. Service was solid, food was good (not mind blowing, but it hits the spot), and I appreciate the range of vegan and vegetarian options. Easy place to land when you just want something satisfying without overthinking it. Solid 3.5–4 stars.”

Thank you to Anthony who waited on us and also indulged us by explaining the correct pronunciation of the Vietnamese dishes.

We ordered the Banh Xeo which was crispy perfection served with fresh vegetables, the Pho Filet Mignon & Fat Brisket (the broth was flavorful and there was a lot of meat) and the Pork over Vermicelli ( a classic which delivered en pointe). The portions were generous and fairly priced.

We will definitely go back and make this a favorite restaurant for us in Davis.”

“It's unusual to find a restaurant serving high quality Dim Sum outside of San Francisco, so it's always a treat to take my family to Well Season. Although I'm now comfortable with the variety of dishes available at a Dim Sum restaurant, I grew up in New Hampshire which, to the best of my knowledge, still doesn't have a single Dim Sum restaurant in the entire state. Nonetheless, the staff at Well Season are patient and helpful with newcomers . They have times when they serve from the traditional Dim Sum carts, but they also always have have plastic covered Dim Sum picture menus available that you can mark up with a dry erase marker to select the dishes you want. My favorites are Siu Mai (minced pork and shrimp dumplings) and Shrimp Har Gow (translucent or "crystal" shrimp dumplings. The only aspect of the restaurant that strikes me as odd is the venue. Well Season restaurant is in a former Applebees building, with lots of exterior windows, so the ambiance has a distinctive American feel to go with the traditional Dim Sum menu.”

The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of indoor seating for larger groups, plus outdoor seating if you prefer. You can definitely tell the dough is made fresh, and all of the toppings tasted fresh too. We also tried the blood orange lemonade, and it was so refreshing!

Overall, the food, atmosphere, and customer service were all 10/10. If you’re in a hurry, I’d recommend checking out the menu online and calling ahead to place your order.”

“Amazing smash burgers. I had the Bacon Avo Smash. YUM. This burger was legit. And I had the double. The best part of the bacon burger is that they solved the bacon problem on burgers, you know how you get a tooth on one of the bacon slices and the whole piece comes out instead of a part staying behind to be enjoyed with next bite? You know what I'm talking about. Well they solved it by diving the bacon, like you would have on a Cobb salad. So the bacon is wonderfully dispersed throughout the entire burger eating experience infused into the pepper jack cheese. Bravo! Genius! Delicious! I'll be back for sure.”

The pizza came out hot and fresh, with plenty of toppings and a crust that was perfectly crispy without being dry. Everything tasted high quality, especially the sauce and cheese. The staff was super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better for a first visit. Even though it was busy, they were efficient and made sure orders were handled smoothly.”

“Chipotlane is an interesting idea. Keeps the store more open, allows more throughout. However, if they’re running behind, and don’t make people go around if their food isn’t ready, then everyone else in line is stuck and has to wait. We waited 20 minutes after our pickup time bc the two cars ahead of us sat at the window instead of making them go around or go inside. It’s chipotle. Food is definitely awesome. Always a top choice for fresh delicious food. I’ll keep using it but hopefully will have some process improvement with the Chipotlane.”
