“Distinctive & unexpected location but attractive, comfortable setting inside & out (we dined inside because too hot for the attractive patio during our visit but I imagine it would be quite pleasant in moderate & cooler weather). Menu offered nice mix of options & variety. We all enjoyed our meals. Our wait person was amiable, knowledgeable & responsive. Very likely to dine with them again!“

“Stopped in an was pleasantly surprised by how good all the dishes we ordered were. There’s a good selection of dumplings, cooked dishes, noodles, some dim sum items and even sweet confections. There’s dining area was nice and uncluttered with a view into the dumpling construction station. Service was great and easy, free parking outside.“

The portion was larger than I expected for the combo plate and nacho fries. It had great flavor and was a good deal for the price. They had a nice salsa variety, too. I'd eat here again.“

“Tasty Gourmet is such a great spot in Davis. They have all the classic Chinese-American dishes you’d expect, and everything we ordered was really good. The portions are also very generous, so you definitely get a lot of food for what you pay.

The bao dessert buns were especially amazing and were definitely one of the highlights of the meal.

What stood out the most, though, was how kind and attentive the staff were. I believe this is a family-run business, and you can really tell they take pride in what they do. It’s the kind of place where you feel genuinely welcomed, and I’d definitely come back again.“

Buffalo blue cheese, and standard burger sliders. I choose the Ruben. Very tasty with a horseradish 1000 island sauce. A little small, but made well. It came with tot, fries or a salad. The lettuce(to much white) and salad overall could have been better but was still ok. They have a good selection of 1/2 lb burgers at about $18+-. We agreed it was a spot we would try again on another soccer tournament in Davis.“

The spicy miso and tonkatsu are my soups of choice and the beef belly (and other meats) are absolutely amazing.

It's a cozy spot that's super welcoming and the food just hits great. The service is top notch too with this one girl waitress (i forget your name, sorry! Something with a J ) taking the time to explain the menu and etc for us and super courteous too.

“The sandwiches here are varies and creative. It's the various sauces and accoutrements that give them their distinctive flavors, rather than different meats. Their meat are chicken and pastrami. Their choices of vegetarian sandwiches are large and the ones I have eaten have been very good.“

Service was kind of slow when we did ayce, but we’re also big orderers and there wasn’t much staff. But they didn’t rush us, service was nice, and the sushi was all great! Also got takeout from them and they were really fast with it! They already had it ready within the 10-15 minutes it took us to order and walk from our apartment to the restaurant. “This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Davis and I come here often. It's easy to access from the highway, with a decent parking lot, and ample outdoor seating. You line up right inside to counter order and they'll hand you a number stand, then they bring your food out to you when it's ready. There's a self-service tortilla chips and salsa bar in the back, and you can choose from any of the self-serve drink dispenser options (including the horchata) if you get a fountain drink (a la carte or as part of the daily special). I love how fast the food comes out and it's my go-to restaurant when I'm in a rush. I've had their tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchilada specials, etc and they've tasted great every time. I highly recommend it!!“

“Omg!!! I have lived in Davis less than a quarter mile from Mr Pickles and I have never darkened their doorstep!!! I hate myself! Thinking back to all the times I was craving a French dip or reuben and it was at a stone's throw makes my brain want to implode!!!

Well, today was the day! I ordered both of those in sammie size just to try and also save for lunch tomorrow. I am so impressed and glad I've taken the chance. So fresh. High quality ingredients. Clean operation. Perfect portion. Plus each Sammie came with a cookie. What?!?!

“The owner is a good man and good heart with a beautiful family. Me and my girlfriend came right before closing. He kindly accepted service still and provided more than we had paid for. Though he said it was because he “accidentally” made an extra order, we know why he provided more for us. The atmosphere was so inviting. So calm and kind. We owe another visit the FOOD WAS AMAZZZZINGGGG. Thank you if you see this. We appreciate what they have done. Nobody would ever regret coming here the sushi was top notch. I worked as a sushi chef before and this place is incomparable to any sushi I’ve had. Amazing. 11/10.

Thank you to Anthony who waited on us and also indulged us by explaining the correct pronunciation of the Vietnamese dishes.

We ordered the Banh Xeo which was crispy perfection served with fresh vegetables, the Pho Filet Mignon & Fat Brisket (the broth was flavorful and there was a lot of meat) and the Pork over Vermicelli ( a classic which delivered en pointe). The portions were generous and fairly priced.

We will definitely go back and make this a favorite restaurant for us in Davis.“

You order first, grab a spot, and they bring everything out in to-go containers… not my favorite move for dine-in, but this is a busy college town spot so clearly it works for them. “Noodle House, as my family and I lovingly call it, is an icon in Davis. It's a little hole in the wall behind Sophia's Thai Bar that was referred to my husband and I 15 years ago. We walked in and almost left because it's small... and old... and a little sketchy? But we decided to give it a try anyway.
We have been coming regularly since then, and our family has grown, and grown up begging to go there for special occasions like getting good grades, etc. There is nothing we have had that isn't delicious.
I highly recommend the won ton noodle soup, pork chop noodle soup, szechuan eggplant with noodles, the potato curry with noodles, the 5 spice beef noodle soup, and the chow mein.
The noodles are homemade. The broths and sauces are unique, delicious, and literally award winning.
The service is fine. It's the same lady for the past several years. She's quick and efficient. Before that, I think it was her mom or aunt.
You won't regret trying it out - and if you do, you'll be back.“

“I didn’t expect to enjoy a steak from a Chinese restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised. My Brazilian friend wanted steak at 11AM and most steak restaurants weren’t open. On a very busy Saturday in September they lost the order that I had called in with the manager at 11AM Be careful because they can give the pizza to the wrong person due to Asian names sounding the same. The manager who had taken my order at 11AM by phone might have had a bad day. However she blamed me for their errors and mistake. A big shout and 5 stars to the employees who made the pizzas.
