We ordered online for takeout, and it was ready as promised and given with a smile. Taste was great. It was kind of expensive, though, so this place is probably better for dine-in rather than take-out to justify that.

My first time in Cali from Texas and I got the best breakfast in town! I ordered the bacon and avocado omelette. Seriously, been craving it everyday since. Service was great. Atmosphere was okay, wish it was a little more open considering how packed it is.

One of the first new cafés in the downtown Davis area this place has been there for a while with an even more expanded menu and attached to a hotel that's on the corner now. The space is a bit more tidy and streamlined. The menu is even more expanded, which is great as I didn't realize my favorite Thai noodle salad is still on the menu (the only thing i used to order over and over). You come in order at the counter and get a number and take it to your table. There are plenty of servers coming by to check on whether you need anything or water which was nice, I happened to be here for a breakfast, and it was very hard to decide what to get so many things a great-I got a very basic breakfast, but everything was done just right.

I really want to give 5 stars as we liked our food, the service, the people but at the bottom of my Kimchi Rice was a long hair about 16 inches long. IDK if they wear hair nets, but my appetite was gone as was my partners. I was 2/3 done it was at the bottom of my plate. No one offered a refund they offered a new plate, which I donated. Please wear hair nets and be clean. I can see a small hair or eyelash but a long piece of black hair means no hair nets!

I would say Bernardo is a solid brunch spot in Davis, and if you enjoy classic brunch food, it's awesome. The prices are OK, relative to what you are getting. It can be challenging to secure a table, especially on the weekends, so plan accordingly. The Chai Latte was incredibly delicious, and it was our favorite item from the meal. The avocado toast was good as well, as were the eggs. Inside the restaurant, it is quite crowded and bustling, but there is also a bar area open to eat in.

I went to the restaurant to get lunch, and I ordered a turkey bacon and avocado sandwich with a side of mixed greens and English breakfast tea. Everything was great until I noticed that the salad contained rotting lettuce. It was very noticeable, so I picked them aside on the plate. I had already taken a few bites of the salad before I noticed it, so I'm not sure if I've already ate some or not. I mentioned this to their waiter and all they said was "I'll mention this to the kitchen staff and we're sorry about it." I paid good money for my meal, and my appetite was ruined because of the rotting vegetables in my food. I expected more from this place as I've had a good experience dining here before. Not sure if I want to return if this is the type of food they serve to their customers.

One of my favorites in downtown Davis. Love the casual atmosphere. They have a separate bar area and make yummy drinks. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love the salad sampler with the Kale ceaser with salmon being my favorite. I also love the Salmon BLT with a side of seasonal vegetables. Service is great. Outdoor seating is available.
