Nice patio. Some good appetizers but a little shy on the portions for prices. Not much searing area at the upper bar.

I'm a regular at Bistro. Unfortunately their service has had a significant decline in the last couple of years. Bar staff don't seem to notice when drinks are empty. Wait staff take forever to respond. The atmosphere is some of the best in Davis with the outside fire pit. I would think they would understand what a gold mine they have and provide higher level of customer service. Unfortunately they obviously do not care.

I came here for my 21st birthday for lunch and I sat at the bar with my friend. The blonde girl bartender checked my ID and never said happy birthday. When I ordered two drinks she said that there was a 1 drink limit. I said oh sorry I didn't know, it's my birthday. She STILL never said happy birthday. Now I am here 6 months later with my friends for mojito night and we waited at the bar for literally 10 min. And the SAME LADY never got our order. This establishment is dissatisfactory and the food is also only ok. Hopefully they re-evaluate their staffing choices or maybe do better training.

Tyler R is THE best! He made our experience so amazing. We just came in for a drink but ended up getting food along with our drinks thanks to Tyler's recommendations. He made us feel so welcome and had a great personality

One star for the waiter...when he finally came. We went in and sat inside...we were the only customers inside. It took abt 10 minutes for a busperson to come with water. I was amazed..I counted 6 staff inside giggling talking laughing. The food although nicely presented was tasteless...really cardboard like. You cant go wrong with hamburgers and fries...think again. Lunch for two was 32.00 with no beverage. The outside seating looked nice. Many restaurants on this street...try s different one...

Bistro 33 has exceptional food, but what sets them apart is their customer service. The host staff is always kind and very communicative of times. The serving staff is informed of the menu and specials, but also very casual and friendly. My favorite member of their team is Tyler, a bartender who every visit has a smile and great attitude. No matter the crowd, he greats everyone like a friend, but with respect, and makes superb drinks. He makes you feel very welcome with great conversation no matter the business of the establishment. Tyler truly cares about the experience of patrons.

I used to consider this restaurant my favorite place in Davis, but the last 4 times I've been there the service has been absolutely horrendous and disrespectful. 1) I ordered an eggs Benedict with avocado instead of ham like I do every time I go to brunch at every restaurant and have done at this restaurant at least 5 times. But one day they just refused to make it for me without giving me any more explanation other than "we can't do that." They had enough avocados so they were literally just choosing not to even though they definitely had the capabilities. Many people are vegetarian so this is not an uncommon order. There's no reason why they couldn't fulfill the request. 2) I came to the bar one evening and witnessed both waiters saying rude comments and completely disrespecting multiple customers 3) I held an event here which I reserved 6 months in advance. When I called to place my ~$1000 catering order I asked the manager if she had the subtotal and she replied "no we don't" which no other explanation. Obviously she was just too lazy to calculate the order because I had already calculated it myself, I just wanted her to confirm it with me before I got there the day of and had a surprise charge on my receipt. When we arrived to set up for the event the day of, no one greeted us or welcomed us or gave us any instructions / information. I had to track down the manager and she was very stand-off-ish and acted like I wasn't welcome to ask her a few questions about our set up. THEN, and this infuriates me, part of our party agreement is that we reserved the whole upper patio area and I was assured multiple times that the whole area would be reserved for only our guests. However once we arrived there were other people taking up an entire table in the area we reserved. We asked employees 3 times to please let them know that this area is reserved and they kept saying they would but never did. Then we asked again and they said "technically we don't have to ask them to leave" WHAT ?? yes you do! We literally have in our contract that the whole area would be reserved for us!! And they stayed for 4 hours throughout our entire party! Plus they messed up our food order and didn't bring it out on time. I can't believe how almost every employee I've encountered there has absolutely no respect for their customers, including the managers. They are disrespectful to customers and their fellow employees. They have no sense of what it means to take care of a client. Overall very disappointed because this place had so much potential and has gone from my favorite place in Davis to one I will never go back to.

The best thing about this restaurant is the outdoor space. The worst is the service. The staff is so lost during busy days they can't estimate time it will take to seat your group, they are short and rude, the waiters try there best but it's clear everyone is overwhelmed. Writing this review after going here on Mother's Day. I had a group of 3 people. We wanted to sit outside and we were told 45 mins. We watched as groups of people came and went. After 60 minutes to talk to the host who said other people needed to be seated before us. So we waited 10 more minutes. Then she seats us with few words, no menu, no waiter, no silverware nothing. Waiting another 10 minutes I was venting to my group about how this is by far the worst service ever. The neighboring table was nice enough to share that Sunday Mother's Day was actually brunch and you serve yourself inside. After figuring out the food was inside we happily returned with our plates of food to find out drinks had arrived without silverware. Finally getting silverware we enjoyed our meal. Then comes the check! Before the waiter can leave I quickly ask how much they charged per person because this seemed too high. He says $35 per person!! No where was this posted. We never saw a sign, verbally were not told by the waiter nor did we get a menu that said how much it was going to be. This was a huge shock. We will not be returning to this restaurant ever. Something is horribly wrong with the service here. Long waits, expensive mediocre food with terrible service. Why would we ever return?

Bistro 33 is the biggest joke of a restaurant EVER. My dad was just so upset about his experience there I am writing this review for him. This place never fails to amaze me at how poor of service they provide. My dad walked in and wanted to be seated on the patio... they told him "sorry there is a wait" when over half of the tables were empty. Then they say he can order at the bar.... he stood there for 10 minutes and wasn't helped. Then when he finally ordered no one felt the need to let him know about happy hour going on. THEN when he asked if he could have two waters the waiter rudely said "water is serve yourself" and pointed across the bar. What kind of "upscale" restaurant thinks this kind of service makes sense... it's almost laughable. Also, the person who took his order told him the burger doesn't come with a side WHEN IT COMES WITH FRIES so my dad ordered double fries not knowing it comes with it and wasted money on horrible fries. Pathetic excuse of a business. Whoever is running this place needs to get their act together immediately. This location has so much potential and is being wasted on a joke of a restaurant

I came here for Mojito Night on a Thursday! It seemed like it had a cool vibe, but was also kinda packed. I got a Peach Mojito pitcher for $12.99 and honestly.. it was GROSS! It was super strong.. which I guess is a good thing? But I couldn't finish it. I'm sure I'll be back at some point, but will not be having another Peach Mojito. Also, the employees weren't very nice. I understand they were busy, but they were just flat out rude -- except for one of the bussers.

I have heard of Bistro 33's mojito pitcher night and seen the packed patio on warm Davis evenings while passing by downtown. But when I visited Bistro 33 for the first time, it was for lunch on a quiet weekday. We were there for the Cool Cuisine month, where restaurants feature plant based burgers. They use the Impossible Burger patty, which is quite close in taste and texture to a regular beef party imo. Bistro offers a regular veggie burger with the Impossible Burger patty and traditional toppings on their standard menu. For Cool Cuisine though, their burger had smashed avocado and black garlic spread. I was already sold as soon as I heard "avo" and that black garlic was just icing on the cake. The burger was a bit messy, but I really enjoyed it and definitely did not miss the meat. The avocado added a richness to every bite, and the black garlic was subtle but unique. I hope they keep this one on the menu too! Service was friendly, and I like how you can see some of the kitchen prep work in the back. Would come back another time...even if I don't like mojitos lol.

We enjoyed an evening of appetizers and drinks with Ricky, our local bartender. Great Mac and Cheese with fried chicken! Also very good local craft gin and vodkas. Try the Grey Whale Gin! Nice ambience In the old city hall building.

The food was really good, especially the pizzas. I ordered an old fashioned, and it was made very well, I was impressed. The beer selection looked alright, folks there seemed to enjoy it. I would definitely go back again!

Of all the restaurants in Davis, Bistro 33 definitely has the most "aesthetic" appeal to it. It's hard to beat the twinkling lights and fire pit, especially during the warmer months. That being said, I would have to agree that the service is subpar and the food is not worth the money. While I very much enjoyed the house burger and poke plate, neither were anything special...in fact it was all pretty generic. Going back to the service, I have never had a great encounter with the staff. The servers are absentee and unprofessional. The staff during Mojito night are exceptionally RUDE.
