I got the tri tip and tots. Their food is absolutely delicious and I recommend. I look forward to going back and trying the pull pork and the ribs. That barbecue sauce is to die for.

Really good, glad there's bbq in the area.The baked beans are good and have bits of bbq and bacon in it. Cornbread isn't cakey. Everyone liked the mac n cheese.I can recommend getting a tri-tip sandwich and baked beans.
Food is delicious. First time eating here and met the new owners. The smoked ribs are the bomb. The sauces they have are amazing. The smoked chicken is a must try along with the mac and cheese with cornbread. Environment is clean, staff is very nice. Overall I would come here again.
The new management has clearly made a great improvement! Went in on a whim and we were super happy with everything. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was sooo good!! We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, the mac and cheese, and the hogwild fries. Everything was amazing but my favorite were definitely the hogwild fries! Definitely going back :)
Finally, fantastic BBQ in Davis, CA! The new owners have a proud pedigree of competition level BBQ mastery. Everything is made in-house, fresh ingredients, and prepared to perfection. Real BBQ can not be rushed or faked and the owners at Davis BBQ are bringing their expertise and A+ Game. Highly, HIGHLY recommended. And a welcome change from the previous ownership. This is a very different restaurant. Please give 'em a try.

Enjoyed the pulled pork, vinegar based cole slaw (nice and tangy) and cornbread last night! Excellent food, well prepared. ??. So glad to have good BBQ in Davis!
Everything we had was delicious and only a few minute wait for food which is pretty good for BBQ. Everyone was friendly as well. My only complaint was the soda machine only had like 3 options available but they had what I wanted. Overall great and would go there again!
Updating my review to 5 stars with the new owners. I'm leaving my original review below for transparency.The food with the new owners is delicious. I had the pastrami, pulled pork, and mac and cheese. All were fantastic. It's the best BBQ I've had since leaving the South. You can really taste the smoke without it being overwhelming. Prices were very fair for the portion sizes, and food was out quickly. I am so excited to finally have good BBQ around!Original review for old owners: Honestly, I came just to see what the reviews (good and bad) were all about. I had the pulled pork, which was pretty tasty and a good serving. I would order it again. I also got the beans which were... interesting. I was expecting a typical baked bean, but they were thicker, almost like refried beans with some pork mixed it. They weren't bad, just not what I was expecting. Cornbread was a little too sweet for me, but the texture was great. My main complaints were that the BBQ sauce was a generic packaged sauce. I was really hoping for a homemade sauce (or at least a doctored jar sauce). The sauce was just okay. The meal I had also came with a prepackaged cookie which was unexpected and a little odd. All in all, I would go back. The wait can be a little long, so just be prepared.

It was so delicious, we forgot to take a picture. We got the pulled pork over our mac&cheese and a plate of tri-tip with pulled pork and cornbread. Their BBQ sauce is fantastic too! We’ll be going back asap ❤️
The new owners have created a much more pleasant experience! Really personable, the food tastes so much better, and is far better priced! This place is going to make me fat and broke from eating so much since I work near by. It's hard to find good bbq but, it's right here for sure. I will be back!
Visiting from Southern California for a soccer tournament, the team and families made a reservation to eat here..Upon arrival, it was clear that the kitchen was backed up and yet they were still taking orders. At one point someone approached us and asked us to take our orders to go because there was another group they needed to serve. Bear in mind, this is after we had all paid and had been waiting for over 30 minutes. That didn’t seem fair especially since we had called in advance, paid, and we’re waiting patiently. But as a compromise, we said we’d be quick once the food arrived..More time passed, and the other large group was standing outside also waiting. After an hour of waiting for our food, many of us decided to request refunds even though we were starving and our team had a tough match and hadn’t eaten since lunch. Upon completing the refund for my order, I asked the cashier if they had learned anything from the experience. At that point, the owner came over and became angry with with me. Trying not to escalate things further, we thanked them and left..I really wish this restaurant the best and might even give them a second chance to change my review since running a small business is really tough. It also seems like without a rush, they cook a really good bbq..That said, seeing the response, and the high number of one star reviews regarding the service, I’m not sure if there’s enough willingness or awareness for them to improve.
Made a reservation for 50 people @6pm they said they could Accommodate all! We placed our orders and waited for 90 minutes and no food.Another team came in said there reservations was for 7pm the owner had the NERVE TO ASK HALF OFour people to leave so the othe people could come in wow !! No foof they said no the kids had been playing soccer all day and hungry. So what does the owner do give the other team cases of beer and sodas outside while they wait. Mind you he told us you can't eat your food here you have to get it and go. I wonder if the color of OUR SKIN HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIS DECISION!!! Ordered pork ribs and tri tip. Overall the food was tasty and of good quality. Staff was very friendly. Though there's room for improvement (tri tip could be more tender) some things are likely related to the challenges that a large part of the food industry is facing.
