I heard so many good things about The Old Teahouse from a few of my friends from Davis, unfortunately it was just not my cup of tea. Their jasmine milk tea was very watered down and there was not much creamy taste to it. Wait times are pretty long also, even though it was not that busy and customer service is nonexistent.

The boba is good. But the food is beyond expensive, and you get the lovely fuzzy peas with it that are impossible to chew up. Just get boba here and go to panda express, the food is better there.

Boba Rating: 3.5-4/5 stars Food rating: 3-3.5/5 stars For those who remember The Old Teahouse of old ... years before the pandemic... This establishment was a mainstay for many international students in Davis. The menu was HUGE and ranged from a plethora of fried rice dishes to an array of entrees and small snacks. Those days are behind us now and the New Old Teahouse has a much smaller and focused food menu as well as a smaller drink menu. The bobas/milk teas are decent quality and within about medium range in cost. I actually really enjoy their House Milk Tea. It is not too sweet and the flavor is great! I judge boba shops based on their House milk teas. IF the Main Drink of the House is not good, you're just not gonna win me over. Haha Fortunately for TOTH, the house milk tea is great...add their soft tapioca pearls in it and it's a hit! Unfortunately, you can't adjust the sweetness level, but it makes sense. When I do want to adjust the sweetness, I get the Assam milk tea...delicious. :) Now food wise, it's a boba shop... I never expect boba places to have great food. The old Teahouse is no different, but they do have a pretty good popcorn chicken. Their entree bowls are ok for what they are. Overall, the food is not great, but not terrible. ‍ The shop DOES look more organized and less cluttered than before (even though I thought that the old design added a sort of aged character to the place haha). Also, the cashiers are very nice!! Overall, it is a decent boba shop with decent to good drinks and average food.

Ordered the umami beef bowl for the first time and I could not even get past a few bites of the meat. Had to throw the whole thing away. I've loved their crispy chicken bowl in the past so I was sad that this other meal was an opposite experience.

***Review is in regards to the service.*** The workers here are super nice. I asked for a fork and some water without actually buying anything - and they let me eat my salad I bought from Trader's Joe! Super accommodating hang out spot. I used to come here all the time for food as an undergraduate @ Davis. Brings back amazing memories!

Great service and good boba. Reasonably priced as well. The place could use a little renovation but as long as they are pumping out good boba I don't think it really matters. I get earl Grey milk tea. It was good. I would go here again.

Some of the best boba in Davis. Like the boba pearls specifically have the best texture. Not overcooked and nicely sweetened. Definitely recommend.

I really like the boba here and the prices are pretty good as well. I would say this place is one of the top boba stores in Davis after factoring in the taste and price of the tea! Love going here. They have a really immense menu and so much to order.

The food is not the best, I personally only come here when I’m desperate and everywhere else is closed. The food is often very dry or way too salty (the pork belly). The green beans taste inedible and super stiff. The Thai tea is meh (even Cuarto Market has better Thai tea). The customer service is hit or miss, I still can’t forget this one time when I walked to the cashier and they told me to use the kiosk to order when there were no customers in the store and when I was finished a customer came in and they were allowed to order right at the cashier (sorry for the rant ?). Anyways T.L.D.R. don’t come here the food and boba are below average and way too expensive. I personally like the Hawaiian place next door.

Massively overpriced. Does not accept EBT. They have a wide selection of teas, but this is not anything special to find in the Davis county.

I wish I could give higher but there's flies all in this place. Very concerning and the place looks like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in years. Unfortunately I won't be going back

I bought a mango smoothie, calamari (small), and one chicken bowl. If you are hungry and just want something decent.... this place is for you. The calamari was alright. Was not bad but was not great either. Didn't look too appealing visually. The chicken bowl did not have that much flavor but the redeeming factor was that they gave a good chicken to rice ratio along with some veggies . The mango smoothie tasted pretty good. Was sweet and actually tasted like mango. Another downside were the prices. Felt like I was paying a little too much for the what the calamari was worth. However, the cashier was kind and respectful and the food came out pretty quickly. Would definitely go back for the smoothies.

The food we ordered was yummy. We had the pork belly rice and teriyaki chicken for Togo. The chicken was a little on the dry side however. The Bobby milk teas were great as well. Not overly sweetened. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.
