Pluto’s is part of the UCD food life. If you go to UCD then you have had Pluto’s. There is a good variety of roasted meats including chicken, turkey, and beef. Plate combos come with a meat option and 2 sides ranging from hearty vegetables to french fries and mac and cheese. There are also fantastic salad options with sandwiches as well. This location has plenty of seating and lots of parking. There are some empty retail space around it so there isn’t much of a crowd as it used to be. The food is cooked well and is a fantastic option for a hearty meal. It is fairly priced given the quality and healthy portions. Great variety if options for everyone. Expect around $10-14 on average for an entree.

I've been going here for about ten years. It's been about a year so I decided let's battle the lights and parking and head back. A few observations and opinions. Why change a good thing? Our Tai chicken salad was 13.50! My medium build your own with crispy chicken with extra meat used to cost 10-12 is now $14.75. Yay. Extra meat costs more than the normal meat price? Which again makes no sense. If meat is $3, than extra might be $4. But not $6.75 total. I feel for the people that work here. You can see it on their face. You can see it with the line. It was out the door and down the sidewalk. Now. Crickets.

I use to love Pluto's, especially when they served chicken wings back in the day. There are still plenty of great menu items, but the salad I got combined with an incredibly inefficient lunch line definitely soured my most recent experience. The setup is strange. 90% of the people there seemed to want salads, so I stood in a line of fifteen and waited for the two employees on the small salad station in back to take my order. I went with the Southwestern, a combination of romaine, avocado, corn, tomatoes, jicama, jalapenos, black beans, fried onions, and tortilla strips. It was absolutely drenched in cilantro lime vinaigrette, mostly lettuce and the added chicken was cold and pre-cubed as opposed to the apparent fresh cuts people could get from the sandwich station if ordering other meats. In all, I spent 30 minutes of an hour lunch break waiting for my meal and wasn't all that satisfied with the result.

This place is delicious! For college students, it is a bit pricey because you have to pay for everything separately. However, the sandwiches, fries and mashed potatoes are delicious!

Very nice casual location with great salad options.
Oh my gawd. I tried their Beets and Berries salad and it was delish.....no joke. The portion I thought was rather large so be hungry or be ready to take some home for later. Thanks Pluto's. I'll be back.
