The customer service is regularly efficient, awesome vibes, very nice staff. Will return here again when I am in the area.

This little restaurant packs some serious charm. Their staff is excellent, their food is delicious, and their decor has so much character. And while previously, dining in could feel a little bit cramped during busy times of the day, taking your meal to go has been surprisingly easy considering the sheer amount of food they provide you (which is a huge plus now more than ever). I have introduced Ramen hook to a large majority of my friends and can say with confidence they almost always love it as much as I do. They have something for everyone here - even if you're like me and ramen isn't always your thing (I couldn't recommend their crunch monkey roll highly enough). Ramen Hook is beyond a doubt one of Davis' many hidden gems.

Do not come here. I placed an order to go, when in for my dinner and the chef's didn't have a mask on. if they don't want to were a mask they shouldn't be dealing with food right now COVID 19 is very serious. Ramen Hook staff are not following the rules of CDC.

Sadly, this restaurant just fell of my list... I haven't visited Ramen Hook for over a year. Dropped in recently to satisfy my craving for ramen. As soon as the bowl arrived at the table, I immediately remembered why I haven't been here for so long. On my last visit, the soup was way too salty. I had to send it back and specifically asked them to just add more hot water. This time, it was the same. Also, the noodles were under-cooked; not firm or al-dente, but just barely heated. For an extra 75 cents, I asked for an egg. The soy flavored hard boiled egg was added to the soup whole (not cut in half as done by some other Japanese ramen restaurants). The yolk was COLD! Not just under-heated but like it just came out of the refrigerator. This was noontime, lunch hour. There was only one other customer who was half way through his meal; the kitchen was idle when I ordered. So being busy was not the cause of the these little mistakes. This place had so much potential. Their ramen could be -great- if the cook would pay just a bit of more attention to detail: taste the soup, cook the noodles correctly, and properly heat the food. Too bad. As mentioned in another review, I noticed that weird flavor in the water too...Davis tap water doesn't taste like that.

My friends and I had been in the area dying for some ramen, so we went searching. We found this place and decided to give it a try. One of us is gluten intolerant so we wanted to make sure we went someplace with options. He got a poke bowl. For myself and the other we all got different ramen. They also offered udon but we knew what we were searching for. I know everyone else liked their dishes but I loved mine! I got the curry ramen and although thick and spicy it was amazing! It was everything I could've asked for and more! The noodles were delicious and the broth just the same. You get the option of Chicken or Tofu and as a vegetarian I bet you could guess which I got. What I mean is, the restaurant has options for everyone. The inside was cute and the space felt inviting. They even have macaron ice cream sandwiches as desert options. Truly a place worth trying!

I love their Sushi haha!

I really enjoy ramen hook because of its affordable and still flavorful. I don't understand why they can't substitute pork for egg though. You get charged a full extra side for not wanting meet and asking for an egg instead which is upsetting. I've ordered a couple rolls and that's basically the same thing, good for what you're paying. Over all good emergence ramen. Mediocre emergency sushi.

Probably the worst curry udon I've had. When they chopped the chicken, think they used the whole bird, bones or gristle in every bite. Curry is store bought and so are the noodles. Service was ok. Food looked nothing like the pictures. I think its hardening as I write this...???

I ate here for lunch while on a business trip to Davis. The restaurant is small, but manages to fit a lot of seating inside. Luckily I visited during finals week, so it was fairly quiet. It's a full service place, which is surprising since the cost of food is so cheap. I got the tonkotsu ramen with extra tofu. The broth was simple and rich and the noodles were done well. I'm sure of this place was around when I went to UCD I would have eaten here all the time!
