Always a fun experience at shabu shabu! Definitely a more basic menu for AYCE, so we opted for A La Carte as it was cheaper and we left satisfied. Service was attentive and the interior was a fun vibe.

Visited at night and ordered all you can eat. Half of the seats were empty but all the waiters seems busy. Ordered the second round of meat and waited for 15 minutes. Unbelievable. The sauce is too sweet and salty. Highly recommend if you want to be angry and hungry at the same time:)

I lived in SF for 20 years and loved eating Shabu in the bay. Their broth especially the spicy miso and meat is so good.

Shabu Shack is definitely one of my favorite restaurants to visit whenever I am in Davis. I always love getting their hot pot (creamy veg & American Wagyu) however this time I opted into getting their new sizzling plates and was extremely impressed. The beef with rice was my favorite but I will definitely come back to try more!!

Smaller menu for a hot pot place. Few types of mushrooms and vegetables. Nicer ambiance and roomy seating area.

Two words: BEEF TORO.

The flavor of the meat and soups were ON POINT. The beef toro was flavorful and melted in your mouth. We got the trio soup: tonkatsu, Tom yum, and Szechuan and loved all 3. I love that we were able to have that many options since most places offer 1-2 choices max.

although they just opened, the service was amazing, spaces clean and food came out fast.

We also tried the calamari, edamame, and soju tower. And everything was BOMB.

Definitely coming back!!

I’ve been to Shabu Shack twice already and can’t wait to go again. Their spicy sichuan was absolutely amazing and their veggie platter was huge, I couldn’t even finish it — not to mention the rice bowl that came with my entree. It was so good everything tasted fresh and was very flavorful. The veggie plate also came with enoki mushrooms, my fave!! The service has been excellent both times I went, very attentive and checked on our water/broth and filled when needed, and I am sure they’ll only get better after their grand opening, remember they’re new! Also get the corn cheese, it was incredible my friends and I finished the whole thing! Overall I am looking forward to my next visit and highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner.

This was our third times here. Everything was perfect! Services were great. All the meats and vegetables were fresh. We also ordered green tea ice cream for dessert. I would recommend this place to all my friends and families.

Parking: In a very safe neighborhood of many other eateries.

Stepping into Shabu Shack felt like walking into hotpot heaven! The place was buzzing, the broths were bubbling, and the aroma was mouthwatering.

The options were endless – fresh meats, seafood, veggies – you name it, they had it! We dove right in, dunking our favorites into the spicy Sichuan broth.

And the staff? Super friendly and helpful, making sure our meal was on point from start to finish.

If you're up for a hotpot adventure, Shabu Shack is the spot to be. Trust me, you'll be planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal!

In Davis where there is a lack of hotpot options, Shabu Shack definitely makes up for it! Not only is the food is amazing but the attentive service and pleasant atmosphere added to the enjoyment to my meal. Will definitely be returning!

Worst service I've ever had - extremely rude and disrespectful employees.

We show up at 5:04 (hours say they reopen at 5) and the door is locked. We look inside to see two employees looking at us and laughing at the bar just standing there. We give them the benefit of the doubt because it's a new restaurant and maybe they are still setting up. 15 minutes go by and I call to ask if they're open. The woman answering the phone was looking at me talking through the window and says "Yes we are open" but does not come to unlock the door. They proceed to look at us through the window and laugh and stand around the bar area.

Around 5:30 a waitress finally opens the door and we ask if they opened at 5 and she goes "Yes, we're open." There was no acknowledgment or apology about opening late or the laughing. She seats us at a dirty table with dirty silverware. We immediately get up and walk out - it was not even worth staying to try the food. I hope the staff there gets better training or they hire better employees or else this place will go down quickly.

I ate here by myself for dinner after work, lemme tell you how my wonderful experience was. They are still in their soft opening but a slight delay was expected. I got there a little early right before the rush, it gets really busy especially around dinner time. I got the wagyu and sichuan soup with udon noodle. My favorite veggie was their premium pumpkin very delicious. Their thai tea is very tasteful as well. I would highly recommend this place. I would be bringing my family here this weekend. I cant wait.

You guys have to train your waiters/waitresses better. There were 5 people working the hall but none of them knew what was going on. Couple of specific examples: We were served our meat without the utensils to actually cook them, the ordered veggies were “forgotten” and had to be reminded couple of times to bring them out, guy with a perm also kicked me as he was cleaning a table next to me, etc. The food itself is alright (just a standard hot pot) but if i were the owner, i would be furious because the servers ruin their reputation.

If you are an Asian face, you will be treated differently. We came here for lunch at about 2 o'clock. There were only two waitresses in the store, and one of the waitresses told us that we could sit down first, but they were short-staffed and that we might have to wait a little while before we could order. We accepted and waited in the store for half an hour. No one brought us a menu or water for that half hour. It was only when we started to ask that someone brought us a menu. After another half hour or so, we asked several times to order, the waitress she finally came over and gave us our order. During the ordering period she didn't care at all what we asked for because there were five of us who needed to order two hot pots and she just told us to order up to three flavors. However until the hot pots and meat were served we still had no plates. The waitress passed us several times, including serving the white couple at the table next to ours that who arrived later than us. she completely ignored us. When we asked her why we didn't have plates, she said, "Oh, you guys need plates." It was a very bad experience and I don't think I will ever come back to this place again.
