No complain about testiness but their Food is overpriced. They are selling halal food at the same time beg money as tips without providing any service. I don't mind tipping but what should students tip money for? They should put a machine outside for tipping who ever interested. After buying a $12 gyro the shameless man beg for money whos all customers are students.

Same quality I remember from eating when I was at davis, but at about twice the price, and they don't give you a drink with your plate anymore.

Shah's is a truck, and I got it at the football game, so I can't really note on ambiance. The workers were nice! Food wise, it was great! However, the prices were pretty high for a food truck, a friend of mine got their loaded fries and it was about $20! I got a gyro myself and that too was delicious but I do think the menu prices are a bit high, and I wouldn't say the food is THAT amazing to justify it. Also, I think the peppers on top are a really nice touch!

A certified davis classic. Definitely my go to spot to eat at when I’m on campus. The staff is friendly and extremely efficient. You order and your food is out extremely fast. The food itself is great in portion size and taste. It is delicious. Will definitely continue coming here.

My husband used to eat here regularly when he was a grad student. I look forward to grabbing food from here whenever we happen to drive through Davis, and now our kids enjoy the food as well. Wish you had a location in the bay area.

They sell tasty food in a convenient location on campus. They're even there during the summer, when most/all other food trucks are normally gone

Awesome food and the staff is always super friendly. It’s also really convenient — UCD has terrible food options. The dining halls aren’t always open, and the various cafes around campus will close at random times and are generally unreliable. But Shah’s is always there ??It would be nice if their menu had more options

The best Halal Food truck I have experienced in CA. I wanted to try some locally after sampling the famous food truck in NYC, and this one is one that fits the bill. We tried the one at the UC Davis Silo, with a free covered multi level university parking lot close by. I love the chicken halal plate.. mild or spicy, whichever you prefer, simply cannot go wrong. They were also selling samosas, which is not typical. The pastry shell was perfect. I have had samosas in other places, many many times. This was different, and more importantly, better. The filling was also very good and the mint sauce completed the trifecta. Nothing beats a fresh made samosa with the proper flaky pastry shell. Got the lamb plate as well, and it was also very good. But in comparison to the chicken, I give the chicken the edge. The salad in either was crisp and the lettuce chopped, the rice was flavorful. Easy to eat with just a fork, but please eat slowly or it will be gone too soon. I told myself I would not finish the large portion, but all resolve went out the window with the first forkful. This chicken and rice had me at hello. Glycemic index be damned, I say!

Very fast service but this is still a good track. Hmm. The food is just ok. The meat, beef in particular, is very very mediocre. Not sure why this place gets so much "push" from the welcome center. They advertised it up and down our tour. Weird. I mean, very very mid.

I recently had the pleasure of trying Shah Halal Food, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. This food cart, located in the Davis, California area, serves up some of the most delicious and authentic halal food I've ever tasted. From the moment I approached the cart, I was struck by the incredible aromas wafting from the grill. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I was immediately drawn to the variety of dishes on offer. I opted for the lamb gyro and was blown away by the flavor - the meat was juicy and tender, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced. What's more, the food at Shah Halal Food is incredibly affordable, making it a great option for a quick and satisfying meal. But don't be fooled by the low prices - the quality of the food is truly top-notch, and it's clear that the staff takes great pride in preparing each dish to perfection.Overall, I highly recommend Shah Halal Food to anyone in the Davis, California area looking for authentic and delicious halal food. From the friendly staff to the mouthwatering dishes, this food cart is truly a standout in the world of halal cuisine.

Average gyro that was hot when it arrived, but few of the lamb chunks were tough to chew. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, not soggy, (ordered white tzatziki sauce on the side), and there wasn't an abundance of veggies to take away from the meat. Just wish they put at least one napkin in there and a fork to pick up the excess that had fallen out.
