I had one of the most amazing meals of my life here! The ambience was very warm and cozy, the service was excellent, the wine selection superb, and the food was absolutely to die for. The Mustard Seed is worth the money!

Dinner at Mustard Seed in Davis delivered a true five star experience from start to finish. I began with the cheeseboard, which was excellent and generously presented with complimentary crackers. The staff elevated the evening immediately. They were genuinely warm, attentive without hovering, and proactively offered gluten free bread while keeping the table cleared and engaging in thoughtful, natural dialogue throughout the meal.

The prime ribeye, cooked medium rare, was perfectly executed and easily one of the highlights of the night. It was tender, deeply flavorful, and confidently prepared. The mashed potatoes were rich and balanced, pairing beautifully with the steak.

And then there were the brussels sprouts. I have never tasted brussels sprouts that delicious. They pulled the entire meal together and, alongside the mashed potatoes, sealed the experience as something truly memorable.

To complement the meal, the 2019 Miner Family Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon brought depth and polish to the table. On the palate it is full bodied yet composed, offering generous black fruit flavors balanced by savory nuances of mocha, dried herbs and cedar. The tannins are firm and structured but refined, carrying bright fruit into a finish that is lively and persistent with a touch of spice. It was a seamless pairing with the ribeye and added another layer of sophistication to an already outstanding evening.

From the hospitality to the execution on the plate, Mustard Seed in Davis delivers an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. Five stars without hesitation.

Beat the crowd and did an early V-day dinner last night. Seating felt a little cramped & it was a tad on the warmer side for indoor seating. Got the Crab Cakes, Steak & Tomato Bisque w/ the puff pastry as well as their Profiteroles for dessert and everything tasted amazing and fresh! The owner was super nice and was happy to explain where all the ingredients originated from and what was made in house (you can taste the quality for sure). Our waitress was super attentive as well despite being very busy! Will definitely be back for another special meal!

Homey ambiance, very pleasant. Super friendly staff. Service was very good. Large portions for the main courses. A little salty for our taste. Fairly pricy - $100 per person(w tax & tip) w one glass of wine each.

The restaurant is pretty tight. You can hear everybody. Food was ok but my favorite was the pate. This place is probably best for special occasions as the average entree price is $50, even the Cauliflower Steak.

We love Mustard Seed. Probably the best restaurant in Davis. The crab cake appetizer is amazing, and the lamb is delicious.

The Mustard Seed has always been our go-to when we want a high quality, familiar, cozy and homey dining experience. The owners and staff are like family members and the ambiance is at once comfortable, warm and embracing. As we are now taking on the adventure of a plant based diet, we hope to see a few morel all vegetarian menu items, but we absolutely enjoyed the faux cauliflower steak offering that evening!

Had a delightful, cozy dinner with great ambience. Our server Josh, was attentive but not intrusive. He gave great suggestions. My lamb was cooked perfectly and was so very tender. Our salmon carpaccio was divine.

Love Mustard Seed. We like the menu and seadonal preparations . Staff is always on their toes, service is excellent along with the food. Best Rack of lamb, besides their other entrees. Our favorite dessert of bread pudding made from croissant and chocolate shavings is the best. We wish we lived closer. Thankyou to husband and wife who have kept this gem of a restaurant running do well.

I've been here many times for Dinner but never Lunch and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic!!! It's a new favorite go to Lunch spot.

We both chose the Asian pear salad and scallops, both of which were delicious! We have eaten here several times and each time the preparation changes to incorporate the freshest seasonal ingredients. Our scallops included Brussels sprouts and butternut squash in a curry sauce with red bell pepper and black rice. The combination was delightful!
