The vegetarian/vegan choices were limited compared to dinner menu. However, what we had was well prepared and presented. We enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. The staff was friendly and the service was exceptional. We definitely will return and recommend the place to our friends.

Finally made a reservation after 4 years of visiting our son at UCD. It was well worth the wait. The scallop dish was magical! I couldn't finish it all and was so glad our hotel had a fridge. The next morning we were to drive the 2 hours home, so I ate it for breakfast because I didn't want it to go to waste. If we return to Davis we will definitely make a reservation.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The mustard seed is very quaint. The food was good, especially the appetizers the tomato bisque and the salmon. My husband ordered the lamb and it was exceptionally good. The bread and butter was delicious with the rosemary. I ordered the pork chop and was disappointed. It was basic I would say it smothered in barbecue sauce. Overall, it was a good experience we would come back and try the other dishes, I must say that our server was really sweet and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. Lastly the desert was delicious the nectarine tart is a must have!

The food is fantastic at the Mustard Seed! Our indoor dining had some loud guests at other tables which was distracting. It's a charming place with gracious and accommodating service. We had serious time delays due to traffic but the kitchen and servers made us feel welcome!

As a first-time guest, I was impressed with the cozy atmosphere and appreciated the cloth-covered tables for lunch. The waitstaff was so attentive as well as helpful. The menu was ample and offered a tempting treasure of desserts. The shrimp salad was delicious and I can't wait to try your soups and sandwiches next.

From the moment you walk through the door, it is a great experience! We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and they took amazing care of us, the food was delicious, and the service was friendly and helpful. We were too full to have dessert, but another table ordered some, and it looked yummy! We really enjoyed the crab cake appetizer and entrées of scallops as well as pesto pasta with shrimp. It is a gem with a quiet elegance in the heart of Downtown Davis!

The server, who was also the owner, was attentive and engaging, which enhanced the restaurant's warm, familial atmosphere. The quaint setting felt like being invited into a home, making for a unique dining experience. The Mustard Seed successfully combines excellent food and outstanding service with a cozy ambiance, which creates a memorable outing for diners.

The Mustard Seed is probably the overall best place in Davis to experience fine dining. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and non pretentious. The service was prompt but not invasive and the food was exceptional. The wine list could offer a little more variety.
