I was here for a couple days in Davis and out of the three ramen places I went to try this was by far my favorite. I had to shoyu ramen and they were super accommodating since I don’t really like certain things but my family also got some sushi and a teriyaki combo plate and they also really enjoyed it. I would definitely go back again in the service was really good.

Zen Toro in Davis is hands down one of the best Japanese spots in town. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and calm --the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy good food, and never feel rushed. The fish is always fresh and the rolls are beautifully made. You can tell they put care into every dish they send out.
Their specialty rolls are amazing, but even the basics are done well -- the miso, tempura, and sashimi all hit the spot. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the meal always feels satisfying from start to finish. Service is friendly and attentive without being pushy, which just adds to the overall experience.

Had the Zen Ramen, and it was quite well made. The broth was rich and savoury, the pork was very juicy and had a nice char-smoky flavour. Portion size was pretty good. Well executed and quite authentic! Pricing was fair. Ambience is lovely. Very cosy and warm. The ambience is telling sign that the food is about to leave a huge smile on your face.

I’ve gone to Japan twice and have tried all types of ramen here looking for one that’s as good or even just remotely close. This is as close as I’ve gotten to having Japanese ramen. The rich, creamy, and fatty broth has so much flavor and is so tasty and filling. The noodles are the perfect texture and are more than plenty for the size of the plate. The server was very friendly and very attentive. She got us seated and took our order in a very quick manner. The food came out in less than 15 minutes which is really quick for any restaurant. Tables and environment was very clean and well kept.
All in all, would recommend to anyone that likes ramen and just wants some good eats. Enjoy
This place has really good sushi and is a little hidden off the street. Food was excellent and service was great. The combo for 2 is a huge portion enough for 3 maybe
