I wasn't expecting much out of a hotel cafe but I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the breakfast was here. I had avocado toast with two sunny side up eggs on top. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and I find most sunny side up eggs to be cooked with too much runny white albumin. This was not the case, the edges were crispy and the yolk was still medium. Since this cafe is on the premises of the Best Western Del Mar Hotel, we had breakfast here for two mornings. This is a small cafe that is on the premises of the hotel. The staff were very courteous, friendly, and the food was good. Very standard breakfast fare, but a good option if you do not want to walk to other bakeries or coffee shops for breakfast. We stayed at the BW Premiere in Del Mar and gave the Cafe Del Mar on-site a try. What a hidden gem. It is a little store and Cafe, but the food is excellent and it sits adjacent to the patio at the hotel. Lots of local folks stopped by for coffee during their morning hike. We got a fruit bowl and a breakfast burrito. Both were fresh and tasty. And the price was incredibly reasonable. Five stars for the service and food.
