Excellent as always. Great atmosphere. Feels like you're on vacation, and dining in some Mexican riviera restaurant
I have been trying to book a party at this place, but the communication has been so frustrated. A simple question would take days to get an answer. My last inquiry was hanging on there with no reply for > 5 days even with several follow-ups on my side. I have to agree with some of the reviews on google that the service, for me the party booking, is rather unprofessional. I felt I have been chasing them for a business - it's really rare how could customer be treated like this. I was attracted by this place when I came across it and tried to 'love' it, but the overall experience has been so frustrated.

Given that we're in San Diego, where the standard for Mexican food is high, this place is extremely disappointing. It serves food that might please the average tourist from Kansas—maybe. I was here years ago, and the experience was much better. Now it seems to be struggling, just phoning in average Mexican cuisine at best. I know fast-food places that far surpass this at a fraction of the price. As an example, we received a simple dish of cheese enchiladas that were cold, with the cheese unmelted—yet the plate they were served on was so hot you couldn't touch it. (Not even sure how that's possible.) Dishes came out randomly, so the rest got cold while we waited for everything to arrive. The waitstaff was grumpy and uninspired. The margaritas were weak and expensive, and they took 20 minutes to arrive after ordering. It was dead on a Saturday night, which makes sense.
The cardiff crack nachos were a joke. Cold, and with a few cubes of meat... overpriced. Service was good but the tenders were overwhelmed with only a few customers... will not come back nor recommend this place.
The food is good. The service is fast. The prices are really good, especially for Del Mar. I like the atmosphere the most, however if you are there during the day and sitting under the yellow roof panels, the color gets annoying. Still highly recommend this place. Also, street parking is tough but they have designated spots in the alley behind the restaurant and a back entrance.
Great food and service in a welcoming relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Lots of convenient reserved parking spaces in alley behind the restaurant, too!
Food was tasty and quantities were quite large. The main problem was eliminating onions from the sauces and meals in general.

Such a fun vibe and the service was wonderful! The value of everything was amazing as well and we definitely plan on coming back because of it. Also loved their cheese enchilada!
Michael Tiernan and Lee Colter are icons of the San Diego music scene and they were both performing. It was a magical musical night!!!!!
I reserved a romantic table for 2 for our Wedding Anniversary. I asked for a table inside and we arrived early. The reservation was made for 7:00 and we arrived at 6:30. We were told to wait, and as we were feeling good as it was our Anniversary we were ok with waiting. At 7:00 a histess told us our table was ready, a table on the sidewalk, a few feet from where we had been sitting that had been empty the entitire time. I explained tbat I reserved an indide table and I walked into the dining room to see half the tables empy. My wife (a patient MD of 30 years) was sad. She suggested I do nothing and that we should have gone to Fienze, our family fav. Anyway, I loudly complained, embarrassed my wife and we were sat in one of the empty tables. The service was poor. The food was good, but nothing special We still enjoyed our company together after many years together. Next year, we eill go to Firenze. The disgruntled professor.
Great spot. Friday is a party! Enjoyed the fish tacos and Fortaleza repo at a reasonable price.
Had the street tacos (Cardiff Crack) — excellent! Hadn't been here in a while, and it was quite good. Loved the margarita as well. Thanks for a great evening.
