The Del Mar roll was the best sushi I have had in a long time and very filling! Ensui Sushi Bar and Grill stands up to their name. It is not the largest place, but it had 3 large TVs with March Madness on each one. I am so glad I found Ensui Sushi and will definitely be back!

This “sushi” restaurant is a joke! The sushi “chef” doesn’t know what he’s doing! Each piece of my roll was wrapped so loosely, that it completely fell apart, including everything in it, which was not much. Super skimpy with the fish, which didn’t smell or taste fresh at all.Their rolls contain almost nothing.I was hungry, and so I struggled to eat most of it, then gave up trying in frustration. At the end, I smelled the yellowtail, and it smelled weird and not fresh. I communicated with my server, who got extremely snippy and impatient with me. Then, the manager told me that since I ate most of it (with great difficulty), they wouldn’t do anything. No apologies whatever! None. They both saw how atrocious this was made. What a joke! If you want quality sushi, rolled correctly without unraveling the moment you try to pick it up with chopsticks, and super skimpy, go elsewhere.I’m praying that I don’t get sick later from the fish…Awful customer service. All that I really needed was an acknowledgment of the reality of the substandard quality, and a simple apology. Nope.Hire an experienced sushi chef! Or someone who cares about what they’re serving.Awful experience. Never again. Who wrote so many flattering reviews for this joke of a sushi restaurant? Don’t believe them.Best of luck with your “sushi restaurant”. Airplane food is better than this awful restaurant.

Very happy to find a reasonably priced, gluten free friendly sushi restaurant with tasty sushi here in Del Mar! Lunch was great, plan to come back for Happy Hour soon!Dietary restrictions: With Celiac, it is hard to find ikura that we can eat!! (Often the eggs are marinated in soy sauce, which has gluten.). So exciting! Yummy ikura... And also tamari sauce available, very friendly service from bartender/waiter (?). Only non -exciting thing was the miso soup. It was ok.

Our first time here and everything was delicious. We started with the cucumber salad and miso soup, and kept going with appetizers and small plates to share…spring rolls, coconut shrimp, California roll, and the veggie roll. All very good and with excellent service.
As a New Yorker, I get nervous when the staff of a sushi restaurant isn’t Asian, I think with good reason. The fish is not of the quality I am used to. Most of it is tasteless at best. Also, the restaurant combined much of my wife’s order with mine and gave it to her, which took a while for us to figure out. We’ll keep trying in this area, Hopefully someone knows how to do it right.

My FAVORITE sushi spot! I can’t remember the waiter whom attended us but we are now besties (jk but he was honestly the best I forgot his name already), the gentlemen who made our sushi’s were super accommodating to my complicated order. Will definitely be coming back!
