Best clam chowder in the country, relaxing atmosphere, beautiful view!!
Let's just say after a very long trip, La Jolla has so much to offer. Iris restaurant was very welcoming. A gorgeous view of the water right by our fingertips. The meals.. the calamari had that crispy delight to it.A delicious Salmon on a bed of artful edible leaves, the variety of seafood bowl was scrumptious. My purple pink alcoholic drink with a touch of lavender was very light in taste. We enjoyed it all my party and I.
Great atmosphere to meet up with a friend from the OC for Happy Hour. Very cozy and quiet place to meet up. Great wine price 1/2 off. Servers were great. We had three different servers kept asking if we need anything else. Didn't have to deal with rush hour on the freeway. Will visit again soon.
WONDERFUL selection of wines. Enjoyed happy hour .
Very special comfort food! And nice people too! We love eating at the bar and the patio view has no rival. Great for take-out to impress company at home. "First Class" experience every time.
Super good food we love going there. You'll enjoy it too.
The cocktails were very complex and well thought out concoctions, and beautifully presented. The meal also had interestingly paired items that were delicious! Our waiter had thorough knowledge of all items. We had a lovely time at Iris.
A friend recommended IRIS for my birthday dinner. The experience was excellent. I chose the Chef Special of the day, a seafood delight, grilled large shrimp and scallops, crab, with spinach, mushrooms and asparagus tips over linguini in a light seafood broth smothered with shredded cheese. Enough for Two. So I saved some for another day. So delicious. My birthday was not missed as the waiter surprised us with a candle decorated "tres Leche" cake for desert. Service was prompt and courteous and friendly. If you enjoy restaurants away form beach crowds but with the same ambience and delicious food to match choose IRIS in Del Mar.
Pretty much had the entire place to ourselves on a Wednesday night during the winter but were planning our second and third trips just after glancing at the appetizers. Wide variety of food, great craft beer selection and their mixed drinks look awesome too! Delicious food and good portions, can not wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. The mussels, cheese balls and lamb meatloaf were awesome!
Love love love this place. Long time fan of their food and best of all their service. Pre-kids we used to go quite often and got to know our waiter pretty well. Now with kids we don't go as often but when we do we are greeted with the same welcoming experience. Favorites are the baked goat cheese, calamari, pork tostadas appetizers. For dinner, duck confit, lamb meatloaf, iris cassoulet, veggie lasagna, chicken Milanese. Well, there's a lot to enjoy. Iris salad is delish also! I always feel like I'm in my dining room hosting an intimate dinner party when I go with friends. I love our few and far between date nights here.
