I have a friend who a pastry chef who told me about this place. This is fine dining they way it's supposed to be. As such, it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. No gimmicks, no glamor, just stellar food done right. If you want see a rising star when their motives and work is pure and has assembled a team that get his vision, you must go to Market. The Market experience is one of the best in San Diego. The ambience is warm and simple and allows for the food to be the star. Service is impeccable; servers are present, but not intrusive- drinks were always full, empty plates were removed quickly, silverware was set. The food is clean, balanced and thoughtful. Chef Carl is genius.
Market Restaurant and Bar came highly recommended to my husband and I and we could not be happier we dined there. The bartender Jay made a very well shaken martini just like my husband loves.
