Amazing food and great service, I had a salad with ahi tuna and it was made perfect, the right amount of ingredients and each item complimented the others. Very well made and the drinks were amazing, the staff was on point and of course again the view made it all come together. Definitely recommend this place.

Came here with some friends, five of us total. The service was one of the worst I’ve experienced. They forgot my friend’s drink, never asked us how everything was or if we needed anything when they brought the food out. Took us 30 minutes to get the check..and it wasn’t even that busy. The servers were standing around by the POS stations chatting instead of checking on us right next to them. Disappointing

Beautiful views at this place. Breakfast was pretty vanilla but you can't mess up breakfast so it is safe. I like that they let you pour your mimosa to your liking. If you attend this place you have to try the dragonfruit margaritas. They are not only beautiful but really really tasty.

There's probably not enough characters allowed on here for me to list all the great things about Monarch. The location is absolutely prime with great views and a great bar with a huge patio that opens up with even another bar! It is great to come here for any meal and or just do get drinks and hang out with friends. I have not had 1 bad thing on the menu and the service is always great but my go to is always the wings and the Brussels sprouts. The wings are unreal and the only non wet chicken wing i will ever eat and they hit the spot every time. The drinks are always on point, must try the mai tai!! If you are in Del Mar then Monarch is a must! i recommend this place to everyone!

The ambiance is beautiful! The food and drinks are delicious! Loved the Ube MALASADAS. Only downside was the service was slow. Super nice but slow. Also the parking in the garage below restaurant is $10 an hour so it costs at least $20 after a nice meal and no parking validation included.

We had a great dinner here. Vibes and food were both amazing. Pork chop, hamachi collar, short rib, calamari were top picks. Shane was our server, I want to give him a shot out bc he hung in there with my NY parents giving him all kinds of nonsense, all with grace and humor- made it such a fun time. He also gave the sunset toast - way to go Shane!Great time! Cheers!

Came here with my kiddo for lunch. We were promptly seated by the window, which had a nice view. He ordered the cheeseburger and fries off the kids meal. The burger was pretty big and he devoured it. Even said it was one of the best burgers he's ever eaten! I had the bacon burger with fries and the basil mocktail, and everything was yummy. The servers and hostesses were really nice. The restaurant has a fun and chill ambiance. Would definitely come back here again after a beach day or to meet up with friends.

Absolutely loved my experience and will come back for another beautiful sunset! There was plenty of parking and both the ambiance and food were amazing. We came on a Sunday evening for some food and drink and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We tried several cocktails and some white wine alongside the mushroom burrata flat bread, shisito peppers, lobster roll, burgers, salad and fries. The staff were so attentive and gave us the most relaxing experience. Cannot wait for my next visit!

Monarch is a great place to grab a drink and a bite! The gorgeous views are unbeatable. The service was a 10/10. There was a piece of paper in my burger (I assume from the patty) and I brought it to the attention of my server and, without asking, they removed it from the bill. Besides that, everything tasted good! I am happy with my experience.

The views here are second to none, with sunsets that feel like they're within arm's reach. Located in downtown Del Mar at the Del Mar Plaza, Monarch is the perfect spot for grabbing drinks. I'd suggest passing on dinner here and instead checking out Pacifica or another nearby restaurant, especially since the wait times for a table can be ridiculous (we're talking 1-hour waits). It does become quite crowded, but you always have the option to mingle by the bar or enjoy your drinks outside. Be prepared for lines at the bar & expensive drinks but for the "vibe" & "views" it's worth it right? Atleast one? The food is decent--think flatbreads and salads--but nothing to write home about. However, the real highlight is the unique tradition of someone from the staff, often the general manager, reciting a poem at sunset followed by a communal cheers. It's a genuinely special and memorable moment.

Really great food here - I ordered the chicken farmers salad and it was just delicious. The view of the ocean is beautiful and we were lucky enough to get a corner seat. It made such a nice lunch even better. The service was also great, our waiter was attentive and asked if we needed anything else several times. Everything was better than expected and we're glad we stopped by.
