I haven't been here over ten years but the great ocean view and relaxing ambiance still exists and entrees are still delicious as ever. We ordered fried calamari, steamed mussels, and fra diavolo pasta and they were all flavorful. The parking system has her updated to inserting credit card in and out with no more print out tickets and no validation available.
I have been going to Pacifica since 2004. It has remained excellent, which is hard for a restaurant to do for over 20 years! The halibut entree was delicious and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious lunch at Pacifica Del Mar. We chose the outdoor patio; with an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean. A cascade of large umbrellas shaded us from the sun and the clear glass kept the breeze at bay. Our server, Mackenzie, was gracious, professional and attentive. The menu provided an enticing variety of choices. I decided on the perfectly prepared SHRIMP & LOBSTER pasta , delicately tossed in a creamy tomato based sauce, was decadent and a more than generous serving. My husband had his hands full with a DOUBLE BEEF cheese burger on a sesame seed bun with ALL the trimmings. He chose Caesar salad as his side and thoroughly enjoyed each bite. We shared a CALAMARI appetizer, again a more than generous portion served with two dipping sauces. NO, we could not eat another bite; we passed on dessert. If you haven't eaten at this beautiful restaurant you should give it a try.
Nice view. Good service. Outstanding food; delicious and generously portioned. Thank- you.
We have been dining occasionally at Pacifica for 27 years now. They have managed to keep the brand consistent and yet up to date with changing palates. This was a lunch on a weekday and it was not very busy. Nonetheless, we were greeted warmly and felt good there. I ordered the burger which I have had before and found to be top-notch (at least 9 of 10). My companions (family) all ordered various salads and were very pleased. Restaurants have gotten very expensive but I didn't think Pacifica was at all out line and we will continue to go there.
We had a group of 8 and our server was great. Food and drinks were great and its a great outdoor atmosphere.
we were a party of seven enjoying a beautiful view at a great restaurant I ordered the tuna which the server told me was the best on the menu It arrived and was covered in some kind of heavy mushroom sauce I asked the server why they put the mushroom sauce on the tuna and he said it was done to enhance the taste I think everyone knows that the only additive for fresh tuna is salt and pepper or oil Too bad the rest of the folks enjoyed their meal, but if you are a tuna lover, stay away from the tuna
I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and Chinese beans, the salmon and mash was delicious with a wonderful sauce, but the beans were so doused in salt I had to put them on a separate plate and ask for new without salt, I can't believe a chef tasted it. And I ordered the molten lava cake, but it was dry with no molten stuff in the middle, disappointing!
Have eaten here many times with complete satisfaction. This last experience was different- waiter forgot starter. Dessert offered was mediocre. Markedly changed.
Always a favorite restaurant for us! The view is amazing, and the food, drinks and service were excellent.

We were a party of 8 for breakfast. Seated outside to the wonderful view of the ocean. The food was good.

Great food, great staff, amazing restaurant. The only thing for Saturday night they closed at 9:00 p.m.
Went with my wife for lunch on a Saturday. The views are amazing and the service was outstanding. We had a couple of cocktails that were unique and delicious. The food was the only part that could be improved. We ordered a calamari appetizer, and it was just fried too long, just on the edge of starting to burn. For the main we shared the fish tacos, and it had a really sweet rub on the fish that was just unpleasant. This spot is definitely worth it though for the service and the great views.
Great spot, cool atmosphere, terrific food, excellent choices for cocktails, beer or wine and perfect location. A don't miss when in Del Mar.
