Courteous and friendly staff, the pita gyro, lamb burger and grilled cheese (trust me not your average grilled cheese), were all absolutely delicious and tasted fairly healthy. We were very happy with everything. Not a lot of diners and the place looks clean, I witnessed them cleaning thoroughly after guests.

This is probably my favorite work lunch spots. It is gourmet food for a good price. The menu is small but I always find something delicious to eat. Definitely try it.

These grevious people bounce payroll checks on dedicated employees!! Don't be an athletic supporter from a former employee and local!!!

Surely a place worth stopping over, the food is good and fresh, the pricing is affordable and it is constantly well organized in here. Keep it up.

This place is delicious and in such a cute location in Del Mar. I've come here for brunch and dinner, and both times were great experiences. For dinner I got the burger, which was AMAZING. Probably one of the best burgers I've had. I just loved the combo of everything that was on it, and the bun was really good, not a gross hamburger bun. For brunch, I got the fried chicken sandwich which was also really good. They have shoestring fries which I love. I would recommend both these items (but for sure the burger). I also tried the mac & cheese and brussels sprouts. The mac & cheese wasn't as sharp as I would have liked, but the brussels were good. Great views, close to the water, and they allow dogs on the patio. Will definitely be coming back.

We went for brunch and it was delicious. The location is easy to find, although the parking is kind of challenging in this area. The menu is simple and the food quality is good. We sat in the patio area and it was a comfortable spot to enjoy the crisp May air. We will definitely go back again.

I am definitely going back for that lobster roll. The lobster was perfectly dressed and flavorful. Some places overdo the mayo but not here. Bread was buttered and toasted but maybe a tad dry. Shoestring fries addicting. Bacon wrapped dates good. Roasted beet salad also good. Chocolate budino solid. Blueberry upside down cake was a disappointment. Tasted like a dry muffin turned upside down with some vanilla ice cream on the side. I say take that one off the menu. Area is nice and mellow and we were able to get a table on a Friday night no problem. Will come back for that lobster roll.

My friend is in town and wanted to meet in Del Mar. Upon reviewing the options, I proposed Prep Kitchen. I've been to the La Jolla location several times for dinner and was excited to try the brunch here. We were the first to arrive on a Saturday morning, just right after they opened. The host let us sit wherever we wanted and were very accommodating when we asked to change our table because it was colder outside than we anticipated. I ordered the short rib hash, while my friend had the veggie omelet and a side of bacon. The order comes with 4 slices and is drizzled with maple syrup. The hash has fingerling potatoes, a lovely amount of short rib and a poached egg with Hollandaise sauce. It's a very flavorful dish, with tender meat, bite sized chunks of potato and a perfectly cooked egg. I had a slice of bacon too, and it was very good. Crispy, with the right amount of chew. The maple syrup was a nice addition, and I'm sure if you're not a fan of the sweet/ savory combo, you can get it without. Our waiter was very attentive and filled our water often, as we drank a decent amount. My friend's omelet looked well cooked too. We didn't leave anything on our plates, which is the best sign of an enjoyed meal. Looking forward to coming back for more!

Ah the fish tacos!!! So good. Really fresh, flavorful seafood. Easy to do gluten free. High quality ingredients and delicious cocktails. Loved it more than fancy seafood spots - just as high quality. Would love to go back

Lack of vegetarian options. But the beet salad is quite good. Also our server was whole heartedly recommending factory farmed fish as the best thing he's ever had. My aunt who eats fish /meat basically politely went for the burger instead which wasn't the best.

Visited Del Mar for the weekend and decided on Prep Kitchen for dinner (most for the reviews, and that they allowed dogs on the patio). We strolled over with the pup from our hotel and were seated promptly. Our table was right by the entrance leading to the kitchen, so there was a lot of nearby traffic, but was otherwise fine. Special recommendations: BACON WRAPPED DATES: I've always loved most version of this dish and this one is no exception. Delicious parm cheese inside sweet dates inside crispy bacon, it's just a perfect combo. SCALLOPS: Guess I was on a bacon kick, the corn delish with bacon jam was awesome. I probably like that even more than the scallops themselves. BOLOGNESE: Husband loves bolognese and thought this was very well done with tender braised short rib. We enjoyed all the dishes we had that night and would definitely come back when we're in town again!
