I had the carne asada with this green sauce that was very delicious. The steak was cooked to my specifications. We also had the short ribs, I was told they were good, but my son ate them all, and I didn’t get to sample them. The fish tacos were also devoured. And as you can tell a good Mexican restaurant by their salsa and chips, so I knew the food was going to be more than satisfactory.

Another excellent dinner. The elote appetizer was excellent and the chips and salsa are very fresh. The chicken mole and shrimp taco was also excellent and the service was very good despite being extremely busy. The noise level is high especially with the music being played in the background but didn't prevent a fun atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing experience for dog lovers. Very dog friendly restaurant, has special menu for your pup. Human food was fantastic, really enjoyed the food, the Fig Mole was delicious and the shrimp in the tacos were huge. The prices were excellent for what you got. The Lavender Margarita was awesome, definitely did not skimp on the alcohol! Highly recommend and will for sure return.

Rolled potatoes and zucchini tacos were good but there is heavy influence of corn in all of their vegetarian options. Think it would be nice to have more vegan/veggie options that doesn't contain a lot of corn. Grilled corn was great, maybe ask for less salt if you prefer.

Food was excellent! I have been El Tamarindo 7 times this year, and each time the food was great, so very consistent. Service has been mostly top notch and fast, depends on how busy it is. Most of the time I book a reservation and request the outdoor tables with the little fire-pit features, which doesn't always happen, but otherwise I highly recommend it!

I love coming here. I'm probably here at least once every week and a half. Friendly staff and customer service is pretty solid for the most part. Highly recommend sitting outside by the fires, makes for a cozy setting.

The picture is the carne asada tacos. 😋
They bring out chips & salsa too with jalapeño bites topped with agave as starters.

The food in Tamarindo was incredible. Great location, great ambience. Everything was good except the service was a bit slow and they didn't pay very close attention but overall, I would go back and I highly recommend it.

By far the worst experience. Service was terrible. We bought a cake for bday girl to serve ($15.00) which they forgot, then refused to serve only after they closed the check out. Then when they returned the cake back, it was returned UPSIDE DOWN. Great location, terrible service, basic food.

In or near Solana Beach? Go a little south and have amazing food at Tamarindo Del Mar! Sit outside, enjoy the atmosphere, order the Cheese Fundido, and whatever else you order you will not be disappointed. We ordered the Chicken enchiladas and WOW! So yummy! My granddaughter ordered the tacos, and are the whole thing. The rice is cooked perfectly and the servers are welcoming and friendly.

Visited Tamarindo for the first time for a Father’s Day lunch as the wait at my favorite, Las Olas, was more than an hour. I’m so pleased we found this fantastic spot. We had a street side table, equipped (if needed) with a small fire pit for heat. The food was delicious and excellently prepared. The Baja fish taco was one of the very best I’ve ever had. The salsa is very unique and an instant favorite. The service, particularly from Sasha and Trey was outstanding. The manager even stopped by the table to ask if we were enjoying our lunch. The Don Julio representative was on site and was offering free sample high-end margaritas. This Old Del Mar restaurant is not for the budget-minded, but not too bad and certainly worth the quality of food, ambiance and amazing service. All in all, Tamarindo has made it into my top-10 in San Diego. Highly recommended.
