I have been several times, always for the same dish. Far and away, they make the best cioppino I've had! I will be back, and soon! They made such an impression that I even remembered their name.
We visit Del Mar quite often from out of state...I was a student at San Diego State in the 1990s, and thus know the area very well. We have eaten at most restaurants in and around Del Mar. This was our first visit to this restaurant, November 12, 2020. First, the entire staff addressed the COVOD 19 requirements with class and efficiency. Second, the bathroom, etc., were very clean, Beyond the cleanliness amid a pandemic, the service was wonderful, the primary waitperson was funny and friendly, the secondary person was also friendly. My wife and I each had the frutti de mar...big shrimp, lots of mussels and clams, and linguini cooked well. Wonderful flavor. When the primary server learned it was our first visit, and that it was my birthday, we received a lovely piece of chocolate cake...on the house. Prices were reasonable for Del Mar...will go again next trip!!!
Nice location near Del Mar. One of the best chicken parmesan meals I've ever had. Outdoor dining in a semi-enclosed patio with heaters. Very comfortable.
The food is fantastic and the service is always great. We love sitting on the patio with the view of the wetlands. One of our favorite places to dine.
They did a great job with social distancing on their patio-they have constructed a wooden/plexiglass barrier between all the tables-very clean environment with a bottle of hand sanitizer at each table. Great service as always. Hope they bring back more vegan options as the pandemic lifts-they had a great menu previously for vegans. Awesome to be out and feel safe. And as always a beautiful view of the lagoon.
The appetizers were wonderful. Our fish, the sea bass catch of the day, was plated with an interesting assortment of grains and vegetables, but ultimately it lacked flavor. I will go again, but try something else next time.
Restaurant is right next to a busy street and we were on the patio due to COVID., so there was unavoidable street noise. Not the restaurants fault!! Noise wasn't too bad , but at times, it could be distracting. Otherwise, excellent Italian food!!
Impromptu date night. It’s been a while since we have eaten here and so glad they had outdoor dining. We felt comfortable with the cleanliness of the place and the server & busboy were very mindful of safety guidelines. We enjoyed the food, wine, and service. We’ll definitely go back again.
Had not been back here in years due to the bad service , inconsistent food quality but with a newer owner , Maria as a server, pandemic safety corrections - sooooo much better! Half price wine Wednesday's help too! Husband I got a house salad to share , shoet rib ravioli for me ( oh my goodness good with actual chicks of rib still wishing the pasta) he got the Puttanesca with shrimp - leftovers ! Nice wine selection ... def coming back ! Great for locals !!!
Our son is in school in San Diego and have traveled out there numerous times in the past couple of years. We stumbled upon this restaurant and will definitely make it a go-to. My son had the lobster ravioli was superb. My husband tried the spaghetti and meatball being an Italian he says that is always his first stop that will tell all with the sauce and meatballs. He loved the sauce and meatballs were tasty. I had the Bolognese and loved it. They had a very good price point on the cheese platter also we tried calamari cooked well.

Very nice little Italian place. Service was friendly, and all the food was tasty. The calamari appetizer was very good. I had the seabass piccata. Fish was well done but vegetables were pretty much raw and unseasoned. Husband had lobster ravioli, which I tried and really liked it. My son's gobbled up the chicken parmesan and short rib ravioli. Will definitely be back.
Entrees were very good. Salads are definitely shareable, good, but very little dressing. Do not get the cannoli's, the only real let down of the evening. They seem to have adapted well to the current restrictions. Service was good.
I liked the linen on the tables but the 2017 Zagot award stickers on the windows are dated prior to 2017 and should be removed. This restaurant must have sold since those awards were given. The facility and food quality did not come close to Zagot standards. The facility was dirty. The wine list is so shallow the vintage years are not posted on the menu. The food was cosi-cosi. (So-so). The prices were higher than the food quality. The server was pleasant as was the bus-boy. The word must be circulating, because there were only three occupied tables. I'm not sorry for the brutal review. But unless this restaurant has a major change, it won't last. There are too many other GOOD Italian restaurants in the area. I suggest you try one of them.
Dinner was delicious. Service was great. I had the linguini and clams and my boyfriend had the pizza. We shared calamari which was excellent. Thats a compliment as my bf is a chef and very picky when we dine out. We will definitely go back.
We had a lovely dinner here two nights ago! Our temps were taken, hand sanitizer provided, and separated tables are on their open air patio. The food, drink and service were outstanding. All staff were wearing masks. Very well done! We will return soon!
