I was a bit nervous about trying The Spread today, especially since the online reviews are quite mixed. When I arrived, I was greeted by a charming building with irresistible aromas that immediately set the tone for a great meal.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and upgraded it to a combo. For my side, I chose the ranch pasta salad, which was exactly what I expected—delicious and satisfying. The salad didn’t look very appetizing at first glance, but it tasted fantastic, and I was happy with my choice. The veggies in the salad were incredibly fresh, provided by a farmer in the Dell—if you’re local, you know that means top-quality ingredients.
The real standout was the Buffalo Chicken sandwich on cheddar jalapeño bread—it was outrageously good. I definitely plan to order it again. I also appreciated that they carry Mexican Coke, which is always a nice touch.
Overall, I’d give this place a 10 out of 10. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and patient with me as a first-time customer trying to decide what to order. If you’re in Desert Hot Springs, I highly recommend stopping by The Spread. It’s a delightful spot!
Delicious subs but went in at 5:45pm and they told us that they were already closed when online it says they close at 6pm

I came in at 5:45 and this place already had everything shut off like it was already closed. They told me that we already did last call at 5:45. I work in the hospitality business and last call does not mean you are close. Last call means you let everyone know that you will Be closing soon and that notification is to let everyone know if you want to still order you need to make your final thoughts. They told me I can’t order anything hot. Closing duties shouldn’t be started until closing. the crew should be out 30 minutes after closing. That 30 minutes is the time to turn everything off. Amanda, who is the manager or owner should know how a kitchen should be ran

Don't normally rate stuff . But was out here for work and looking for something good and came across this hole in the wall that was worth the drive and money. The Chipotle chicken sandwich was really good.

Drove there from the Morongo Basin yesterday, arrived around 3pm. Guy in the parking lot told us it was closed. So we left. Did we verify that? Nah, maybe should have. But I won't make the effort to try again.

When I went in the other day I was welcomed in and was left to just awkwardly stand in front of the cash register while the foolish woman behind it had handfuls of cash right in front of my face. What??? I just stood there waiting to be spoken to. The sandwiches are ok...the bread is very good, thus 3 stars. I don't know if they have anything extra like avocado ECT. I wasn't offered any. I've been there a couple times and I won't go back. I'm not about to be charged extra bc I use a card. It's not right that I foot her bill.
