Discovered Heemo Sushi when walking around the plaza where we usually frequented Baskin Robbins. Enjoyed a weekend lunch with some sushi!
We went big, ordering a bit of everything. We got the mixed tempura, uni nigiri, unagi nigiri, spicy tuna roll, crunch roll, salmon skin roll, crazy roll, and the chirashi bowl. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Presentation was on point too. They have the most visually pleasing presentation for the chirashi bowl I've ever seen!
There wasn't a lot of staff working that day, but we never felt like we were neglected. Food came out at a reasonable pace, waters were refilled, and our empty plates were collected timely.
Plenty of parking in the plaza. Heemo Sushi is a welcomed addition to the Duarte community!

Love coming here! Two of my coworkers brought me here once. I was shocked because I always come to this shopping center but never noticed it. As soon as you walk in, youâll come to find itâs bigger than it looks on the outside. Everyone is so nice and happy to greet you right away. There always seems to be good vibes with the kitchen and the servers. This place is a gem.

Today, I was thrilled to discover a hidden gem of Japanese cuisine right here in Duarte. It was my first visit, and I was genuinely impressed â the flavor, presentation, and quality far exceeded the price. Especially in times like these, when many sushi houses serve smaller portions, this place does the exact opposite: generous cuts and heartfelt hospitality. Truly one of the best sushi restaurants, and I highly recommend it!
Have ordered take out about 5 times. Portions are large, packaging is very well secured and orders are correct. Staff is respectful, friendly and helpful.

Me and my brother went there last week, the server was terrible, and her name is KIM. When we eating she keep stare us. Also we try to asked for somethingâs she just walk away donât say anything. There sushi chef is have a lot problem one chef is called James. We try to asked him for change the sushi roll to soy paper and HE JUST SAY NO! And after that the chef and server was talking about us in back kitchen. we just want change to soy paper itâs all. TERRIBLE SERVER KIM AND SUSHI CHEF, NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN! ! !

Me and my girlfriend went to Heemo Sushi in the late afternoon on a Friday. It was our anniversary and I wanted to treat her well at a sushi place, after coming into the restaurant, the building looked nice, but after the waitress came to our table, the waiter name is Kim. The waiter had a bad attitude towards me and my girlfriend, the waiter randomly asked us without introducing himself and just said âWhat do you wantâ I told him our order which was the california roll, dragon roll, and rainbow roll. After placing the order, the food came in. I tasted the food and I almost threw up! There was a hair in one of the sushiâs, without thinking, I went to the front desk and asked them about the situation, the people in the front even had the guts to say âMaybe it was your own?â I instantly got furious. The sushi also was bad quality, the cuts wasnât even, the sushi contents was also falling out of the roll, the fish wasnât fresh as well. Never coming back again, LA County Health Inspectors has also been contacted.
