Hands down one of my best meals I’ve had in the city……. The food here is just amazing, the appam and mutton masala were just fantastic, I could give this place a 10/10 for sure.
The service attentive and smooth at all times, John was very very helpful at all time in explaining and helping us through the menu….. going to be back here again n again n again…..

This restaurant offers an exceptional experience for those seeking authentic spicy South Indian cuisine. We indulged in their meals and mutton biryani, both of which were remarkably satisfying for a single person. The meal included curry, an appetizer, various dals, rice, and paratha, with each component being outstanding. For just $18, you receive a comprehensive meal. While the jigarthanda was enjoyable, it deviated from the traditional flavor, resembling more of a caramel milkshake.

Recommended dishes: Chicken Thali, Mutton Biryani, Chicken 65
Such a cute authentic experience. They put alot of thought into the food, decor, menu and even the utensils. Full saapadu was my favorite. Definitely will be back!

Need to hire more people. U CANNOT RUN THE PLACE WITH ONE PERSON WAITING ALL THE 10-15 spots U HAVE. No one has time to wait 30-40 mins to wait for food after placing the order.
Messed up the entire order as you have ONLY PERSON TO WAIT AT THE ENTRANCE, TAKE THE ORDER AT THE TABLES, SERVE IT AND TO TAKE THE PAYMENT.
And please have accountability when the customer is unhappy with the service. You charged me $29.99 for the meal while half of the dishes were missing. Zero stars.

Just an amazing place for some sumptuous South Indian food. Very clean, service is great. All their dosas, uttpams and chutneys are really good.
Filter kappi is a must, and don’t forget to try their Black Rice dessert ( one of my best dessert ever ).
John is a great guy who helps you choose what to order and is very friendly and patient.
Highly recommend- mysore masala dosa, ghee dosa, podi masala dosa, onion tomato uttapam, sambar vadai and idli sambar.

Restaurantji Recommends
This review has been due a long time but better late than never...stopped by a month or so ago for dinner with friends craving some Indian fix. This place did not disappoint, be it service or food (Chkn 65, Nethili fish fry, Stuffed ceylon paratha, Seeraga kozhi biryani, Pepper chicken curry, & Aapam). Note that they don't carry any ALC beverages nor allow to BYO.

Food: tried chicken 65, goat biriyani and chicken chettinnad masala. The chicken 65 has to be the best I’ve had in US. However, the mutton in the biriyani was a little tough to leave the bone. But otherwise, an excellent experience.
Ambiance: nice decorated indian restaurant and great service.
Value for money: 4/5

I had a very disappointing experience at Anjappar. I went in to buy chicken biryani, and initially, I was told they didn’t have any. A few moments later, they changed their response and said they had some available. I bought it for $20, expecting a decent portion of chicken along with the biryani.
However, when I got home and opened the pack, I was shocked to find only two tiny pieces of chicken, an egg, and rice. For the price I paid, this felt like a complete rip-off. It’s unacceptable to mislead customers and serve such a poor quantity for a premium price.
I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for value or honesty.
