Biryanz is a cool, no-nonsense place in San Francisco when you’re craving authentic Indian biryani. The flavors are bold, the spices are well balanced, and the biryani feels satisfying and comforting—just the way it should be. The rice is cooked well, the portions are generous, and the aroma hits you as soon as the plate arrives.

The vibe is casual and relaxed, making it a great spot for a quick meal or an easy catch-up with friends. It’s not overly fancy, but that’s part of its charm—the focus is clearly on good food.

Overall:
If you’re in the mood for solid Indian biryani without too much fuss, Biryanz is definitely worth checking out.

My wife and I love this biryani spot above so many others in the bay area (RIP Kitchen of Kuchipudi, the other best around town). Whenever in the area we pick it up. One Vijayawada chicken biryani is our go to order and feeds both of us easily. It's spicy just like we like it with exactly the kind of flavors you expect from a biryani. Price point is great. Hours are great. Food has a kick and just the flavor you like. It's not the fanciest place in the world, but it doesn't need to be. And consistent. Food is just as great as it was years ago when we would come here :)

I ordered family pack on 28th Nov and I got appetizer in a small box. When I last placed an order on 115th Nov, it came in a decent size box (black medium size). I have been ordering for last 6 years and the person at the cashier says they never gave box bigger than this.
I have 2 concerns:
1. The person there is lying. Rather than accepting that they reduced the quantity, he is saying as if this is my 1st time ordering there.
2. On calling him back to tell him this, he is now disconnecting the call. Very rude customer service in an area where there are tons of restaurants offering same or better biryani. Horrible and misbehaving behavior of the cashier!

Placed an online order late night around 11 pm on Friday 10/31/25. We got the chicken tandoori leg and Apollo fish. This was our first time to order here. The food was not fresh. Both the chicken leg and Apollo fish was too dry on bite. The chicken meat was yellow and we could say just by looking that the food was old or not fresh at all. I think the food was old and the restaurant just reheated the old food repeatedly and gave us. Also when I went to pick up the order the place did not smell pleasant. The person who attended me had dirty hands (food or masala) when he handed over my to go parcel. Sorry to say but I notice these kind of things and it is important to me when it comes to cleanliness. Note to management - please serve fresh food to customers no matter what time ( if you can’t then don’t) and maintain proper hygiene. All the best!

Quality of the food has declined over the years. They used to serve amazing biryani and apollo fish/chicken but over the years, chicken sometimes comes undercooked and biryanis are missing the spice.

Be careful while placing the order online.
You won't get what you see on their online order page. Completely different.

Spice level is beyond control. No option to select the spice level. My fish biryani, full of broken pieces of fish filets, in a curry that looked like a generic curry used for all non-veg curry, was inedible. And restaurant showed me don't care attitude.

Not recommended.

Be very careful!! We had food delivered from here using door dash, and we received egg biryani with extra protein (Cockroach). Not sure how this place is still open.

Their food taste is good but the staff is beyond unprofessional. If you dine in then you won’t find anyone at their counter 4 out of 5 times.
I made an online order and reached there from 4 miles far and they told me that the item you ordered is not available.
This is complete bs customer service .
They could call or send message roght after your order but no they want to waste people time.

Ordered Biryaniz’s special chicken biryani and it is plain white steamed rice with butter chicken like chicken with gravy spread in middle and some carmalized onions. Doesn’t even taste fully cooked This was a big disappointment. Atleast try to make some kind of a biryani and not try to sell white rice with chicken gravy as a biryani. Nothing like the picture in the menu. Strongly do not recommend this place.

I used to come here before Covid, and their Dum Biryani was excellent. I ordered Dum Biryani and got boiled rice and chicken. No flavor or Biryani taste. Very disappointed.
