Went out to enjoy a drink and some karaoke and ended up getting kicked out in a way that felt excessive, confusing, and disrespectful. There was no clear reason given and no attempt to talk things through—just immediate removal. I will never be back.

I’ve been coming here regularly for over a year and this situation was handled very poorly. The bartender asked another customer to physically push me out, which escalated things and almost caused a fight. That customer was visibly drunk. Earlier, a random intoxicated person told me to close my tab and leave; I said okay, but given how drunk he was, I told the bartender she should call the police. Instead of handling it professionally, I was kicked out.

If there is video footage, I strongly encourage the owner to review it. I’m genuinely confused about what just happened. I’m a local, I’ve consistently tipped around 25%, and I’ve never had an issue before.

I also observed what appeared to be underage patrons being served alcohol. IDs should be checked more carefully.

Dear owner: I hope you respond to this review so we can discuss further. The way this was handled was unacceptable, and treating customers like this ensures they won’t return

I stopped by the Back Lounge on a Thursday karaoke night, and overall it was a fun experience. The bartenders were hands-down the best part—friendly, entertaining, and I loved that they sang along while serving drinks. They really carried the night.

Unfortunately, I had to drop my rating for one reason: the DJ’s girlfriend. Instead of adding to the atmosphere, she spent the night glaring at every woman who walked in (unless she already knew them). It created an unwelcoming vibe and made guests—especially women—hesitant to even put in requests. It’s hard to understand why performers bring along clingy plus-ones or why management allows that kind of energy in the first place.

At one point, I even gave her a genuine compliment on her singing voice, which somehow came across as an insult to her. A confident, secure woman might have used it to build engagement and hype up the show. Instead, it felt like “karaoke night featuring your boyfriend’s watchdog.”

The bar itself has potential, and the staff is fantastic—but if the goal is a fun, inviting karaoke night, the side-eye routine from the sidelines definitely misses the mark.

Best bar in the 925. Great music. Great place to meet up with friends for a few drinks and sometimes live music.

Definitely a new favorite spot, there’s a jukebox, and karaoke on Thursdays is always poppin, pool tables and strong drinks can’t go wrong! 👌🏼

The Mexican food at this place is incredible! Authentic flavors, perfect seasoning, and vibrant presentation make every bite a delight. The tacos and enchiladas are especially amazing. A true must-visit spot for Mexican cuisine lovers!

Very cool vibes and friendly patrons here. It's definitely one of the top places to become a regular. Think of this as a spot to recharge from the standard of the bay and just have a good time.

One bartender charged me $17 for a pitcher. I gave her a $20 bill and she took it and said thanks without offering change assuming i was giving her the whole thing. I didn't go back up till the other bartender arrived and only went to that one the rest of the night. I never bothered complaining cause i didn't want any grief. I was there to have a good time so I'm just putting it here instead.

Vegetarian options: I guess liquor would be considered vegetarian compliant

Dietary restrictions: They have light beer and hard liquor and water which would have less calories than some beers and wines

Parking: There is parking in front but fills up if it's busy. Rear parking is shared by neighboring businesses that leave vehicles parked full time so it varies. I got lucky and found parking very close as I arrived a little earlier than some.

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly at all. It's a bar. 21 and over only.

Wheelchair accessibility: Barely compliant as it does get packed but they will cater to wheelchair clients.

Historic location in Dublin! The legend continues with life long resident Phil and his rockin wife Marta... slinging great drinks, great prices, and awesome live music. I never thought one of 2 staple dive bars of Dublin would get such a great facelift, but it is better than ever!
