Nothing fancy, but it was good. My wife got the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl and it tasted really good. If it would have been a bit creamier, it would have been great. I got a Reuben sandwich and it was also very good.

This was my first time trying sourdough and co. Outside of this chain, I love sourdough bread, especially the sourdough batard from Trader Joe's. With that context in mind, I visited this sourdough and co location.

The food was good, although, to be honest, not all sandwiches should be on sourdough bread. I ordered a pastrami rueben and an italian. Both tasted very good, but the sourdough flavor was distracting and didn't add any new or interesting flavors to the traditional mix of ingredients of both sandwiches. Additionally, the rueben had mostly lettuce instead of sauerkraut, which further deteriorated the joy from the sandwich.

I also ordered a large cobb salad. When the staff member handed me my whole order, she said the was very sorry, but they didn't have eggs. If you don't know what cobb salad is, eggs play an irreplaceable role in it. The staff member said they only found that out when they were in the process of making it. I am not one to ask for a discount or a complimentary item or anything like that. However, in a purchase, the buyer and a seller enter in a contract, which is even sometimes codified in local or country law. When a person pays for something, and business doesn't have that something, they are expected to offer to cancel the transaction immediately. Any other action is a breach of contract, unless the buyer agrees to any modifications. In this case, they brought up the missing key ingredient several seconds before I walked out of the door, which is not even enough time for me to realize I was swindled, stiffed, and fooled. In hindsight, I should have asked to cancel the salad and give it back to them, but at the moment I felt it would be unappreciative of the staff's efforts to make my food.

In either case, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth, because I had to get home, boil eggs, and only then enjoy the salad. As everyone knows, eggs are an unaffordable expense for some at the time of this writing (April 2025), so I was not only wronged flavor-wise by the business, but also financially.

I won't be back to any sourdough &co location, mostly because of the flavor profile of sandwiches (although I firmly believe some sandwiches should be made on sourdough. Maybe I should have tried the cranberry chicken one). But the sour taste from being stiffed an egg in a $13 salad is also a major factor in this decision.

Have been to some other sourdough shop, ot was amazing. So, decided to take family. Thought all will be same. But, this one is very very bad. Vegetables aren't fresh. Veggie burger with no veggie patty costs almost 13 dollars? Completely ripoff.. chicken one was so bad..soup was cold and bread wasn't great. Complete disaster.. family was very disappointed..I can't go this place anymore..

WHY DID ONE OF THEIR WORKERS SNEEZE INTO THEIR HAND, AND PROCEED TO MAKE MY SANDWICH?!? OF COURSE I’M GONNA BE UPSET. I didn’t even bother eating it because of that. Waste of money.

I had been craving a sandwich with some good bread. We went right before closing and to my surprise the bread was still fresh, had a slight crisp outside and very soft inside. We loved it so much we went back the next day. Our choices were cold tuna, italian and the brisket sandwiches. All were very good choices. The clam chowder soup was a great compliment to the tuna. My son had the mac-n-cheese he doesn’t eat anyones, but mine, however, he liked it! I plan to go back and try the French Dip next time. ?

Very bad service the kid taking order was so rude and full of attitude. Ladies were good and humble and listened to us and our request. Soup was not served which was not made and he is not ready to refund. Crazy other Pleasanton branch is best.
