This is a pretty standard Tasty Pot location. Our group of 3 came in around 8:30pm and we were seated immediately. They have tablets here for you to use to order your food, which is a bit fancier than other locations that require you to use your phone to scan a QR code. We ordered popcorn chicken, two stinky tofu pots, and a beef pot. All were as expected, though I felt like the portions were a teensy bit smaller than usual. They also brought out sauce on the side in bowls rather than having the metal containers which may end up being more wasteful. Overall still very tasty and comforting for a cold night. Service was okay. Both the people working were very quiet and not super attentive, but nice enough. This seems to be the norm at Tasty Pot. I do wish the workers were a little more upbeat and conversational but it's not a big deal. ALSO don't forget to use the Yelp check in for a free boba drink!

Tasty Pot opened in Jim's Taiwanese Cuisine's space years ago. Ambiance enhanced by a nightlife pic, little else besides new paint jobs. I RSVP the YEE, was waitlisted. Replying i may have ate here years ago the reason? Actually never did. Was at another place 5 years ago. Joined George F. As his guest, sharing popcorn chicken. Intended to pay for my hot pot, George insisted on paying. When the check was asked for, the waitstaff comped my meal. WOW! Thanx to Yelp for YEE, Tasty Pot for their great service & generosity, & George F. for offering to pay as well as being an entertaining, informative lunch associate. Ordering done on ipad. Waitstaff assisted. Too many options to pick. Staff did it flawlessly. Offerings: individual hot pot varietals, appetizers, sides, drinks... Eats: Popcorn Chicken -big chucks of tender chicken pieces with crispy skin. Juicy eats amongst the best. Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Pot. Medium spicy. -hot pot actually had superhot broth keep hot by sterno heat underneath. Only hot pot recently experienced with fire under pot. *waitstaff came every 5 minutes to refill water. Passed every time. Guessing adding water keeps broth less salty, less spicy/"hot". -contained 2 dozen+ ingredients: meats, seafood, noodles, veggies, offal, fried tofu etc. all. Broth deliz. Didn't taste hotness till i scrapped bottom. Spicyness got me coughly violently involuntarily. Pot very big. 2 pots, another entree & pop chicken Filled the table. Sip: mango tea was slightly oversweetend even at less sugar. Leftovers: -didn't see any banners announcing YEE@Tasty Pot. -too much food, saved it for dinner later. 5 stars for flawless service, comping my meal, navigating my ordering on ipad..

Pros: Like the idea of having my own hotpot so I don't need to compromise on what I order. The food was tasty, and service was good. Cons: They serve water and other drinks in disposable plastic cups, and their bowls, and chopsticks are also disposable. So wasteful! I am trying to live my life with no plastic, so this place will not be on my go to list.

[IN A NUTSHELL] great hot pot, delicious sauce, great portions, flavorful soup [VERDICT] - APPROVED [RUN-DOWN] Thank you YELP and Tasty Pot for this event! It was cool getting a pair of chopsticks haha. I've been here a couple times and I really like this restaurant. I would recommend coming at lunch because I remember them giving you a free drink with a purchase of the hot pot. This is a great place if you are looking for some individual hot pot. They also have a lot of options from something as simple as beef and lamb or something as fancy as seafood. This is a good place to if you are in the mood for some hot pot. They also have a sauce section at your table that you concrete your own sauce (not sure what they are, but one of them is chili oil which is super delicious). [SCORE & ORDER] OVERALL: 4/5 **yes, the math doesn't add up but i decided not to include the milk tea in my rating because i would not usually come here for that Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup (4/5) -*Medium to Flaming Spicy.* Napa, beef slices, fish filet, flam, aorta, imitation crabmeat, tempura, fish ball, beef ball, zucchini, enoki mushroom, black mushroom, potato slices, frozen tofu, fried tofu puff, fried tofu skin, potato noodle, & scallions. -Get this dish if you are in for a VERY spicy but delicious soup. I did not realize how spicy it was going to be so the milk tea and rice did help to cool that down for me. This was very spicy and if you are someone that enjoys spice, I would recommend getting this. I ordered the milk and it was just lingering haha. This doesn't mean it isn't good, I just think that the spice was too much and I couldn't enjoy the meal. However, it did come with a side of some sweet ginger sauce which helped. The Sichuan flavor was definitely there and you can see the sichuan peppers inside the soup. It was a great choice and the meat to other item ration was great. Popcorn Chicken (4/5) -Popcorn chicken was super good. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I only wish that it had more garlic and basil taste, but I would get this again. The flavor was also good with a hint of spice (that's what we ordered). It is on the smaller side so keep that in mind, but we shared with everyone and it worked out :) Beef Sizzling (Udon) (4/5) **NEW ITEM** -butter, corn, edamame, premium beef, black pepper -This is a new item at Tasty Pot, and I can say that I am a fan. The flavor was there and overall a really good option. I also added the egg which I think elevated the dish. It came out super sizzling so that was cool to see. The sauce (I think we got the black pepper) was super flavorful and was a great addition. The udon was also super soft and crispy at the bottom when we left it on there to get that outer crisp. The udon can also be substituted with rice so that may be my go to next time! Jasmine Milk Tea (2/5) -I am giving this a low score because it tasted more milk than tea. I usually get the regular tea but decided to try the milk tea and I wouldn't get it again. If you come here, I would just recommend getting the regular tea. [SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE] (not reflected upon review score): Service was pretty great. It was pretty busy when we came and it could be because of the event, but nonetheless, the servers were super nice and accommodating . Atmosphere was a little warm inside because of the various hot pots going on but I noticed they opened the door. Tables are also a little tight but it's probably because they are a popular place. In a small plaza, so kinda hard parking, but worth the try! The place is relatively small too, but it's chill atmosphere for spending time with people and enjoying soup! You order by yourself on the iPad, but the customer service is great! Any questions, just let them know. Need more soup base? Don't worry, they're walking around checking up on ya. Want to give feedback? Well, our server asked about our experience as we asked for the paycheck. In other words, as long as you're quick on the iPad, your food will follow, because it truly was that fast! Overall, the food was fast, hot, and tasty. Inside, it may seem a little crowded, but it's a great place to just enjoy your company and to warm your bellies. One bad thing really, was their drinks in general. Cheesy hot milk soup - I personally enjoyed it, but it was more vegetables than anything else, so I would suggest to for add-ons. My partner was not impressed with the flavor profile, it was too simple and not enough kick to it. 3.5/5 stars Japanese miso hot soup - Could never go wrong with miso. My picky eater father ate this up! Hard to choose? Well, safe pick here. 5/5 stars Herbal hot soup - Unique if you haven't had this kind of flavor. It's familiar to me, because it tastes like seafood sinagang (Filipino dish). The flavor was definitely there. However, I can see why one of the employees asked for feedback for the overall food, but specifically for this dish, because not a lot of people could appreciate the taste. I personally say - 4/5 stars Sizzling plate - New item! They are trying to expand their menu outside their soups and it's an absolutely amazing idea, especially because this is now my favorite dish. Tried it with udon, but I bet it's as good with ice. I added an egg and it helped smooth down the pepper. Generous amount of everything it comes with. Love the abundance of edamame beans and corn! Also trust, good amount of meat too. Oh, they also have a mushroom sauce option too for this dish! 6/5 stars What was unfortunate was their drinks. Got 3 milk tea drinks and the mango slushy... Whether or not they needed less or more sweetness... the tea is not strong. They were good enough for soothing the mouth for the temperature of the food or to lessen the spicy, but it's a nah. 2/5 stars

Excellent food! Very fresh. My husband's favorite was the sizzling plate. I wish they also had a shrimp or vegetarian option for the sizzling plate. The vegetarian hot pot was very fresh! However I ordered medium and it was not spicy at all, very mild. But they can bring you some of their oil and crushed pepper sauce to make it perfect! The calamari appetizer was also crispy and not chewy. I added some chili oil to make it spicy. we went on a Wednesday evening and by the time that we left around 7 PM there were several parties waiting outside to come into the restaurant. So I would recommend that you arrive early since it is a popular place. Food was very good and we will be back

Came here to warm a cold night. Busy as usual. Had a thirty minute wait. Server was friendly as we were seated. Place is clean which was a plus. I ordered the beef hot soup and my friend ordered the kimchi dumpling hot soup. Presentation along with personal burner was a nice touch. Tho, I had no idea how to close the burner as I couldn't see if it was sealed. At least the server was nice enough to help me out. The soup was a large portion and flavorful. Not so much into the hype but would return for soup if in the mood.

They took us in at the last minute (was traveling from Southern California) just arrived and they were very welcoming and gave us a lot of great service! Would totally recommend!!

The amount of times we've gone to multiple locations with this place shows that they never disappoint us with their hot pots. Me and my mom appreciate the hot pots we ordered, as of course already knew what our favorites are. Service was quick. The broth flavor is extremely delicious (and sometimes spicy). I truly LOVE Cheesy Milk because it offers that milky taste plus the cheesy goodness (hence the name!). Best time to go is lunch time, since they offer free green or black tea! If you don't have time to drive down to Boiling Point in Milpitas and want some good alternatives, then this is something you should try next time when you're in the Pleasanton area. There's also other locations too across the Bay and even in parts of upper Central Valley.
