This place is AMAZING! The service, the food, the history, the giant fireplace with a cozy fire, the smell of forest outside when you walk in, the cabin charm, the historic bar, the crab cakes appetizers! Seriously worth the drive!!

Dropped in after the Dutch Flat Christmas Lights Parade last night. It was supposed to be a quick look around before hopping back on the freeway for home. Gorgeous inside! Stayed for the cheese and fruit plate. Staff and patrons were sooo friendly!

Awesome staff, great pork chop, faaaaaaaaantastic pie. I had the lemon pie and it was gone in seconds. Do not miss out on dessert - even if you're full. Splurge. Do it. I come through this area alot with my photo work, and will definitely be getting pie every single time.

Very disappointing. Our past experiences with the food was wonderful however tonight it was not very good. The salmon was not cooked properly, chicken picatta had no flavor, the shrimp taco had no flavor, the French dip and chips were good, the Peach berry pie was not cooked throughly and had very little fruit, it was horrible.

My server Amy was amazing and the food was beyond what I expected for my first time coming here. The steak was cooked to order and shrimp scampi had tons of yummy garlic. They had a coffee creme brulee which I scared down with my coffee. The vibe was fall festive already and dark and intimate. There was live music as well.

Monte Vista Inn had such a homey atmosphere when you step inside. The hostess and wait staff were super welcoming and accommodating. I had the Philly Cheese steak sandwich and sweet potato fries with FRESH- made lemonade, which truly hit the spot. Very tasty. Convenient location right near the interstate. Stop in!!

We wanted to celebrate hubby's birthday someplace special without fighting the crowds of our usual dining spots. We hadn't been to Monte Vista Inn in several years but remembered how good it was so we decided to drive the half hour from our home to Dutch Flat to once again experience a good meal that was reasonably priced along with friendly and attentive service. We weren't disappointed. We experienced a great local band that plays on Tuesday nights from 5 until 7:30....background dinner music that wasn't at all loud and annoying and was provided by five fellows that have been playing together for some time. The songs they selected brought back nostalgic memories. Right away I noticed the warm and inviting atmosphere and lighted candles on each table with cloth napkins....that's something you don't see much anymore. After a nice meal, the desserts were brought to our table on a display tray and each one was explained to us as to what it was. The selection was huge with no less than ten different types. Our friendly waiter even offered to warm the chocolate peanut butter bundt cake which was the one we selected. All in all it was a fabulous and memorable dining experience finished off with sitting in a couple of comfy chairs to enjoy the last few songs offered by the band and having an after dinner drink. Don't forget to call ahead for reservations.
