I stopped by after not having eaten here in years. They're still some of the best sandwiches in San Diego, but they're seriously overpriced. Over $16 for a pastrami sandwich. If it included some fries and a small drink I would definitely give it 5 stars AND a tip.

Our go-to sandwich shop. Forever impressed with the quality, and I am always happy to have an East Coast style meal here on the west coast.

Update 3/8/24:Decided to try their BLT again after over a year since my last visit. They should call it a lettuce sandwich. I ordered extra bacon — which cost $4 — and look at the photo of what I got. I guess the joke’s on me for wanting to give them another try. And the staff STILL look like they don’t want to work here. Don’t waste your money here. Freaking rip off.Original review from 2022:I've only tried the double-decker BLT and it's decent, but they're really stingy with the bacon. There was more lettuce than bacon. When I ordered today I even asked for DOUBLE bacon, and there was still hardly any bacon. This is ridiculous to me, especially since I was charged for double bacon. The girl who took my order over the phone and helped me when I picked up my order wasn't very friendly at all and did not look like she wanted to be there. At least what bacon there was, wasn't overly crispy and tasted good. The potato salad is good, and so is the squaw bread. If they were friendlier and weren't so stingy with the bacon, I'd probably give them 5 stars. But if I order a double-decker BLT and it's mostly bread and lettuce, there's a problem.

The food at this establishment was decent, but unfortunately, the customer service was extremely disappointing. I went to pick up a sandwich that my partner had called in for us. Before heading there, we had agreed that he would try to pay with his card to cover the cost, as he often does for our meals out of kindness. Upon arrival, I was initially confused about where to pick up the order, as the signage was unclear. (Apparently, only Doordash picks up at the "Pick Up Here" sign). Eventually, I approached the cash register, where I was met by a gentleman who began ringing me up. Believing that my partner had already paid, I mentioned this to the cashier. However, he insisted that the order hadn't been paid for. As I was attempting to confirm with my partner over the phone, a woman from the kitchen rudely interjected with a smirk, saying, 'Nice try.' Her tone and demeanor implied that she believed I was attempting to scam them, which was not the case at all. It was simply a misunderstanding between my partner and me, and her response was completely uncalled for. Feeling embarrassed and frustrated by the situation, I made the decision then and there that I would not be returning to this establishment. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or accused of wrongdoing over a simple misunderstanding.

This was my first time here and I'm giving it all 5's! I honestly did not know what to expect but I can say that I was happy on all fronts. First, the place is clean. That for me is important. Second, the service is really at the point of sale. You order at the cash register and they bring it out to you. Our cashier was super helpful in letting us know how they made their sandwiches. BIG! Make sure you order accordingly ? Third, the food was really yummy. We had the French dip sandwich and it was very good (one full sandwich could feed 2 people easily). I recommend it.We will be back and we live in Eastlake so if that tells you anything 5 stars ?

Found this place years ago while working next door and I have been hooked to the pastrami sandwich ever since. I don’t work in the area any more but I still make an effort to go and don’t mind driving 25 miles to pick up their delicious pastrami sandwiches. Honestly the best sandwich in San Diego, love, love, love it! Place is clean and staff is friendly and quick. Highly recommend!
Walked in and was greeted when ready to order. Representative was cordial and patient with me. I ordered and waited inside and ambiance was calming, perfect MUSIC, the delivery of food was prompt. Portion for price was great, sufficient for lunch. Flavor was respectable. Would definitely swing by again and try more sandwiches.

This place has been around forever and it has awesome food the sandwiches are awesome. You wouldn't think that a sandwich would be that good but it is from them. Give them a try and you won't regret it. Sometimes they're very busy so I would recommend calling in your order before you arrive.
