I wish there is less than one star to give this business After 6 years of being a customer at this grocery shop, I was shocked this afternoon for one of the employees opening my shopping bags after I paid for them and searching the bags When I asked him what is he looking for The answer was that the business owner asked him to do that!!! Which he di not do for other customers but only me !!! And the guys was super rude he didn't even apologized I will never go there and I don't recommend this location for anyone I hope the business owner see my review and contact me if they really care about their customers

Good place to shop. Usually have pretty decent prices and is about a block away from Village Market where i love to have lunch some days. Family owned and very nice people.

it's been a few days in a row that I have been trying to get their bread.... There is NEVER enough, once they see the tray is empty - Oh lets put in another batch.... and one has to wait 15 min!!!! seriously I only want 4 buns.... People take 2 big trays and don't leave any for others! IF PEOPLE WANT BIG ORDERS - ORDER AHEAD SO OTHERS CAN GET THE 4 BUNS! NEVER RETURNING TO THIS PIECE OF CRAP STORE! People go to work want to have some bread for lunch and get nothing! Now starve to death!

Such a great store. My mom has been shopping here since I was a kid. Same family runs it now. They are so helpful and the prices are great on things like dairy (amazing Greek Yogurt and Danish feta and butter) and henna. The produce is ok but I go to farmers market so I'm spoiled. The shop is super well organized and clean and I would recommend this place even to scaredycat whitebread folks who've never left the country.

Small market with great character. Great variety of Middle Eastern products. Good feta and olives at the deli counter. Fresh bread straight from the oven. Very friendly staff at the deli counter and register. My only complaint would be that all the fresh bread is white flour - no whole wheat (though really, white bread is by far the norm in the Middle East and I shouldn't complain). It would be nice to have fresh whole wheat bread, but otherwise this place is great.

The fruit is usually in poor condition being small or have rotten spots on them. It is difficult to sort through the piles to find nice sized and ripe fruit with no bad spots on them. What I can say is that the quality of the meats they have is pretty good, but there too, there is a rotten spot to be found and that is the attitude of the lady behind the meat counter. She will look out at you and see you standing there but will not come while she is talking to one of the other employees. The most irritating thing is that she clearly favors the Arabic people there. She will help every one of them first before she helps me, who is non-Arabic. She looks to the other people to come forward and talks to them in Arabic and starts serving them, clearly seeing I have been waiting. Even my daughter complains that she does it to her as well. The cashiers, often don't look at you or greet you when checking out. The foods are so so the customer service SUCKS!

Rating on baklava and 'fresh made' food. Really dry & tasteless. Visited on a few occasions to give it another try, but I'm still unhappy. Wish I could have a refund haha. Don't come here.

Worst place to shop. The owner is a thief and his prices are way too high. Rip off. Worst shopping experience. Will not be returning

HORRBLE & TERRIBLE!!!! The worst customer service we've ever experienced. Rude and impolite employees and managers. Very small and tiny store that it is always crowded with people. Sometimes you have to stand in a long line to buy bakery. We decided to never go there EVER. Very bad!!!

Really 4.5 stars. This is in my opinion one of the best small family owned Middle Eastern markets in the San Diego area. I drive there from downtown to get my fix. They have great prices and I love their nuts selection- they carry Iranian, Turkish and California pistachios. We are hooked on the smaller Turkish nuts. They have a "live" bakery- I call it live because it is always putting out fresh bread- I have never seen a stockpile of bread. It gets snapped up quickly. weekends you will have to wait your turn. They have a traditional roll- looks like a telera shape- that is super delish- I sometimes sit in the parking lot and stuff a hot fresh roll with feta and olive oil to enjoy them while hot. The knockout for us is the Tantoori bread- much like a tandoor bread, a large pizza size dough stretched and slapped into the side of an oven. they are ready in minutes. Whole wheat or white. The WW is super. We take it home and reheat in a toaster oven- heavenly! Oh yeah did I mention the dates? large, fresh, selection and produce too; cheap prices! There are other Mid-Eastern stores in this neighborhood, however this is our favorite because it is well lit, wide aisles and clean. And the staff is friendly. There is no meat counter here. They have offbeat items , like syrups, spices and other hard to find items. Free parking in rear of store.
