I love eating at Black Bear Diner. No matter what my husband and I order, the food is delicious. The desserts are amazing and filling. We always leave with a to go bag.

* Affordable and Delicious * I spotted this diner while driving back home on accident and since I love diners I stopped to check it out and was pleasantly surprised! The food portions are huge! Usually when food portions are this large you would expect the quality of the food to be mid or the price to be too much but not here. The quality and price were great! I got two kids breakfasts that were super filling for my girls. It was so much they took their left overs home for later. The kids sundaes were way bigger than anything we had ever gotten from other kids combos at other restaurants. Kids loved them. I got the Santa Maria steak and you could choose whether you want it with a soup or a salad, and I chose the clam chowder. I have to say I’m not a seafood type of person, but this clam chowder was my favorite part of the meal. It was served well with a cornbread on the side, crackers and honey and it just tasted really homey. I would order this just by itself next time I’m not too hungry. The steak was super juicy and flavorful, the loaded baked potato had so much bacon on top. They really didn’t skimp on it. The only thing I didn’t like was the green beans that I got on the side. They let you choose two sides and I really wish I would’ve chosen something else. I don’t recommend them at all. They were really soggy. Aside from that my mom got the bacon burger which was super juicy and delicious. You really can’t go wrong with a burger here. We also ordered onion rings to share and even though my kids dont like onion rings, they were loving these. The food was just good. I do have to add that when we came in there was a guy behind the hostess/ cashier section on his phone that ignored us for like a full minute. There was absolutely no one in the front we were the only guests there and we were like 5 feet away from him so it was really awkward to not be greeted. We had to interrupt him and ask if we could be seated. He was like oh hold on and walked away and we didn’t see anyone for a solid 3-4 minutes of just standing there lol it was so weird. No greeting nothing until finally someone else came and told us to follow him. I don’t think he was the host but definitely they should have someone there to greet people or let them know someone is coming to help them. As first timers I was about to walk out. So glad the food and the waiter made up for that strange interaction. Overall I definitely recommend. The food is 100% worth it for the money.

To be honest is a very first time that I came to this place my French toast wore a lot better this time honestly I did not like them, but the hash brown and the eggs were good
The food was excellent, the server was in a hurry the whole time, and the atmosphere was nice, except the music was a little loud to carry on a conversation.

Changing original review to ZERO stars. Came in hungry, ignored at front desk for 5 min. Seated next to large group of noisy kids and a DOG, not a service dog mind you, just a DOG. Moved seats, more ignoring. Sat for 20 min until server after server walked by ignoring us in a very empty restaurant on a Tuesday night. Finally got a server, told her we're ready to order, she said she only gets drinks. We got up and left. Starving.

The restaurant usually serves very good comfort food but it seems like about 730 when we usually are there the music starts getting cranked up Louder than what is reasonable. I wonder if the manager leaves at that time in the employee start cranking up the tunes. Also, one time we were there in the kitchen had loud ranchero music blasting at the same time jukebox was playing in the front so the two Noise makers were competing with each other. Very annoying And difficult to carry on a conversation . EDIT: I received a timely response from someone at the company. They were polite and responsive so hopefully the noisy environment has been improved upon. Thank you BBD.
