Loved everything we got tonight, the chicken sandwich, pulled pork, amazing! So were the fried Mac and cheese balls!!!!

The food is great. As you enter, you can smell the smoker going. Gets you salivating for those yummy beef ribs. The only drawback is paying at the counter first. Impersonal service. I like a personalized friendly service. But I understand. Would like to see more local craft beer.

The only reason I would come back is because of Samantha. She was amazing, a great hostess. She went above and beyond to take care of us. Whoever is her manager, she deserves the best of acknowledgement. She cared about us. To my personal experiences, no place can compete. Next time I think about BBQ, I will bring friends and family to Buckboard. One thing, and it wasn’t her fault. There was no Buck Bread Puddin.

Staff was superb, food was close to the best in El Cajon, I did like the atmosphere however it was cooler outside than it was inside ... I am not a big outside eater. What an awesome experience and I can't wait to try their Happy Hour deals next time. They have a GREAT chopped salad and you can add tri-tip!

Top notch spot! Our son's baseball team was in the area for a tournament so we came here for late lunch. Easy order at counter, super nice staff, excellent service, zero problem handling 30+ kids and adults. Food was awesome!! No chain here, everything is in house. Come here!!

Food was bland, and when we ordered dessert, we had to wait for those orders that were ordered after our dessert order to be served. What happened to first come, first served? I guess the cook doesn't know how to multi-tasking, or the servers know how to help out in the kitchen, and it wasn't busy. Even the dessert wasn't that good. Yeah, we're not going back there again.
