They suck to order over the phone literally felt rushed so I said never mind. Better to stop in person if you don’t wanna be rushed. Literally was calling in because I was in a rush to pick up food and go. So not the best service if you have a question

I had curry chicken and it was delicious, plenty of food and you can tell the food was cooked with love. Very nice staff, I'll be back for more food!

Easily the best Chinese food I've ever had. Crispy beef, curry beef, usuals like Kung Pao, Orange chicken all amazing and worth a repeat. Smaller dining room so call ahead with big parties if you want to sit together. We do both dine in and take out but it's amazing food everytime. Owner and fam is super friendly.

Used to eat there often when visiting El Cajon. Loved loved loved Crispy Beef. Have since moved to Illinois. Can't find anything like it. Is there another name it might have? Can't find a recipe to even try to make it.

Yes, Crispy Beef here is the must order item. Of course, all the food is great and it ranks amongst my favorite Chinese restaurants.

If I could only find (or make) some Crispy Beef.

Poor customer service! Lady in the front desk didn't even know what I was going to order and she was already giving me a long waiting frame with a bad attitude, when restaurant was empty!

Loyalty and logic mean nothing to the staff. Don’t bother if you’re a family of more than 4, they won’t serve you without a reservation and if they do they’re going to make you feel incredibly unwelcome to the point where you leave on your own 🙄 it’s sad when a small child asks “why didn’t the lady want us there”. We’ll be dropping our money with people that don’t have attitude, Panda Express would be more worth it than here. If you need a recommendation for a place with better customer service and tastier food, hit up Panda Machi instead.

Incredibly poor customer service, after years of coming here. So disappointed to get so much attitude from the hostess, grace and kindness go a long way. My daughter and I left after they made us feel unwelcome. It’s sad when my five year old asks “why didn’t that lady want us there”I can't recommend this place based on that. Small place that can hardly fit anyone in there, and won't take more than parties of four without a reservation, so skip if you're trying for a last minute reservation, they don't even open till five. Food was good, which makes this all the more disappointing. We won’t be returning and will be letting all our friends (of which many are also regulars) not to bother with this place. Try Panda Machi for your fix instead! Bit further than El Cajon but far better customer service, without party size limitations 🙄

I've been coming here for many years, and I've never been disappointed. A few times over the past several years, we've tried other, highly rated Chinese eateries (times when we wanted to eat before 5:00 pm). Each time, we agreed that we should have waited until 5:00.

I had dinner and could not decide what to eat. The food was overly priced, and the garlic chicken wings were crispy and burnt. When we sat down, the two waitresses ignored us and one (owners' daughter) slid one menu to us and walked away. She didn't greet us or give any eye contact; however, she continued her conversation with the patrons sitting next to us and would not let that couple eat. It took almost 30 min to get our chicken, and we almost walked out. We couldn't get their attention bc they ignored us the entire time when all we wanted was more water. The main waitress kept talking about all her business and even invited the couple to her sister's wedding! She talked all night and did not help the other waitress who was stressed out and eventually apologized to us for being too busy night. I will never go back to that place. China 1968 on Broadway is still our favorite. We were at the shopping center to get a haircut, otherwise, we would've never gone there. I give it a 1 out of 10. I see another review below that is very similar to mine from 2017!!!! Wow! Not good for them...

There’s no better Chinese food in San Diego! I know everyone says this, but it’s really amazing food! The staff is the absolute best! Thank you so much Olivia for the recommendations and great service! Will be back at least once a week
