I have been ordering cakes from Flour Power for 30 years from when they were at the old location in El Cajon by the airport. Flour Power has supplied the best most memorable cakes for parties and events for all the family. My favorite is the lemon cake with the lemon cream frosting. Don't forget the signature white chocolate chuck with the message for the occasion.

I entered the bakery at 12:30pm on 2/10/24 and a young lady was at the counter and was speaking to a customer and she was very rude. She speaks with a strong loud voice and I was so taken back how rude she was to the ladies. Note to self: I’m not going to prejudge her. I’m going to be super nice and calm. So, when it was my turn. She was not friendly at all. She answered my questions but she seemed annoyed. I went on to say that I called on Friday and was told that to come in on Saturday to order the cake for Tuesday morning 9am with the basic design. She told me no, you have to come in at 11am. This is totally unacceptable. If the person on the phone told me to come in on Friday, then I would have arranged to leave work early. But she sounded so confident that if I come in on Saturday, it would be more than enough time to pick it up on Tuesday at 9am. The cake I was ordering was basic design, no sprinkles. I was so upset. I will never do business with these people and I don’t recommend this business.Customer service is important for a business such as a bakery. To the top it off she was trying to tell me that I had the wrong date for my event. Then I had to point out on the calendar. She was looking at March. She was just being difficult, rude and showed no empathy. If you don’t like your your job, quit and find something else that you will enjoy. This bakery needs to take a second look at who they place at the front counter. I will never go back there and I will let everyone know how customers are treated at this establishment.

What a pleasant place to stop for a break after a busy pre-flight morning. I have been passing this place for several years during the weekend evenings, but it has always been closed with the rear lights on!This morning, Wednesday, I saw the "OPEN" sign in the window! The young lady welcomed me, took my cookie order, and answered all my questions.Turns out, their main focus is customized cakes, which they bake non-stop on Mondays and Tuesdays! They bake cakes 'to order' not only for weddings but also for any special event or party! They sell cakes by the slice as well as an assortment of cookies. Delish!

I have ordered several items from them. The first one was the most beautiful cake for my daughter’s birthday and cupcakes for my Dads bday. They were both delicious and the presentation was amazing. We occasionally pop in there for Holiday treats and their Christmas stuff did not disappoint.

The best bakery in town. Their cakes are amazing. They are not cheap, but they are definitely worth every penny.

Placed my order in advance knew exactly what I wanted the cake was decorated beautifully but THE mousse tasted old and tht cake was wet like it was not cooked fully or possibly frozen and defrosted. We cut 3 slices from the cake they all went in the trash the cake was disgusting We could not get through it with a fork it was like playdough. We returned to advise the management with 3/4 of the cake to show her what it looked like and she argued that the cake was good. PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM RUIN YOUR SPECIAL DAY LIKE THEY RUINED MINE. SHE TOOK THE CAKE AND OFFERED NO COMPENSATION OR REFUND MANAGEMENT IS SO RUDE.

Flour Power's cakes are friggin' amazing. My fiancé and I just tried 16 different cakes in advance of our wedding. We had such a fun time with Amber; she's super knowledgeable and gave us the recommendations we needed to make our wedding dessert decisions easy. We are not "cake people" but these cakes are special. Thank youuuuu!!!

I went for first time to get a slide of chocolate cake since recently move to El Cajon and wanted to tey this place. The slide I wanted was not in the display so they got it from the back all frozen and taste it like old.. It was not good, and on top of that the young Caucasian girl noticed I ordered first and she disregarded me when another couple caucasian waled in and helped them first getting their other before me ringing me up. It felt like she was racist just because I was hispanic she didnr finish my transaction and ignore me. If I was first why would she help the other couple. Not going back again.

Excellent cake shop! We used them for our wedding 5 years ago - they created just what we wanted, and It was delicious! In fact, I just picked up a small cake from here to celebrate our 5-year anniversary!

Not impressed for the cake I ordered for my daughter’s graduation and kind of overpriced.$70.00 for 8” pudding chiffon cake , basic decorations.

Flour power knows how to do cakes. We used them for our son's first birthday 4 years ago and we used them again this week for our daughters first birthday. The cake is moist and delicious! Can't wait to order again for our son's fifth birthday this year!

Cakes are overpriced! Carrot cake not tasty, and not fresh. Better off to go to Costco. Beware

I called today to place an order for Saturday today’s Thursday and they declined to take my cake order because I wanted flowers on it basic cake and they declined to take my order because as the lady said they require five days in advance order. Their cakes are decent but not the best. The owner of this cake business should consider hiring more staff. A 10 inch cake will run you $100 that is somewhat pricey but that price I still buy their cakes. This bakery also has you pay for your cake when you order it over the phone with a credit card. I will find another bakery that wants my business. And people wonder why family owned businesses shut down they turn away customers that are willing to pay for their work and when this happens, we find another place that will take our cake orders. Just giving everybody a heads up. If you want a cake order 5 to 7 days in advance or you will be left with no cake for your party or celebration. Find a back up plan and bakery.
