I’ve had Gyros before. In fact it is some of my favorite food & this is by far the WORST GYRO I’ve ever had. Charged me 10$ for meat, tomatoes and bread. Then charged me $1.50 for tzatziki sauce. It was like yogurt with the fruit on the bottom but instead of fruit it was meat. The sauce is supposed to go on the pita first and then the juices from that and the meat mix and create the gyro flavor. If you are going to serve gyros there HAS TO BE SAUCE on it! Pita bread doesn’t really get soggy like normal sandwich bread. 1.00 worth of food charging 9x more and calling it a day… with only THREE INGREDIENTS!?!?$ Almost 40$!? For what exactly?

I love this place, for more than the food. The employees at the registers are always great food is solid and a hit every time. But on occation i have been blessed to be eating when the owner is on site. And whitinesed how kind he was to a few un housed individuals and restored my faith a little in humanity. He had no reason to as we all know too well, however he understood that it takes 3 seconds to be kind to someone. And that has made me a lifetime customer and any time our crew is in el cajon this is where we spend our money!

I'm a bit torn. Tried this two days in a row as the gyros were so good but wanted to try its signature chicken. Second day I tried the chicken... I'm fairly certain the 1/4 chicken was partially off/bad as part of it tasted bad chicken sour (and it wasn't the seasoned part). So I'll give the gyros a big thumbs up but don't think I'd get the chicken again.
