Hana Sushi is truly exceptional! As a sushi lover, I couldn’t ask for more—Hana combines convenience with some of the most delicious sushi in San Diego. The prices are affordable, the service is outstanding, and the sushi is melt-in-your-mouth perfection!

This is my go-to spot when I want to avoid the busy downtown scene. The team at Hana clearly takes pride in what they do, with every bite crafted with care by their skilled sushi chefs. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Hana Sushi is a must-try!

Not a good experience. They weren’t busy but took forever on my food. Then a worker there has my order and slams it into a chair before giving it to the waitress to give to me. He smiled as he did it as well. So beware if you order from here.

I ordered the Volcano Roll, Dragon Roll, and garlic edamame. None were good. The rolls were mediocre in terms of flavor and the garlic edamame was the same. The packaging of each food item was very good, though.

Servers are on their phone, you have to keep calling them to get service. Sushi was bland. The cut sushi was a mixed bag. Either too big or too small in pieces. Would not go back.

I’ve been here one other time at night and it was really good. Went today around 1pm and ordered three sushi rolls, calamari, and the tuna bites. The sushi was below store bought sushi quality. One of the rolls we ordered said it had cashews on it, but the whole roll was cream cheese and big chunks of cashews (I assumed that meant chopped and on top like a garnish, so I guess that’s my bad.) Didn’t even eat half of it between myself and my wife. When the waiter came and asked if we wanted a box I explained that we weren’t very impressed, we had been there before and it was a different experience. His explanation “different chefs make the sushi differently”. So don’t come during the day? Kind of weird. We paid the tab and left. Will not be coming back.

Gotta' have Salmon Nigeri at least once per week. I switched to Hana about a year ago after years searching for a sushi restaurant I could be loyal to.

My loyalty began with my first interaction with Michael, the excellent manager. I asked for a customized Nigeri order with less rice and a little bigger cut on salmon. After just that one request, every order since is prepared that way. And always fresh, and delicious. Thank you Michael for listening!

Thank you Juki for always smiling and the excellent service, and Kenny- you are the best sushi chef (love the edible flowers)!

Finally, I pay attention to a restaurant's bathroom as much its decore. It is the bell weather for how the restaurant is operated. Hanna Sushi's bathroom gets another "5 stars"!

Took me 30 years, but finally found my sushi home. B?b

The people are friendly, the service is quick but some of the items like the karaage are not exactly authentic but a similar version but still great at a great place to go for a quick sushi craving and have a beer at the bar. I would definitely come back again. But parking is definitely a problem and they don’t accept American Express for your planning.

Always solid if not just quite shy of the 5 star. Recommended.

Parking: Hard to find parking during dinner hours. Pro tip: park in the alley in the back if you can't find anything.
