We tried baklava, Turkish kanafeh. It was not great. Tasted powdery. Baklava King in El Cajon area is much better. I would not recommend Shakira Pastry to anyone.

I have never been a baklava fan. I always thought they were too sweet. But a colleague gave us an assorted platter of Baklava from Shakira's and it was divine. I had no idea about the variations of baklava. Mixed pistachio, cream-filled phyllo dough, classic, yum. All good. I am looking forward to visit the bakery in person to check out its atmosphere and try other variations.

Baklava and Kunafa taste super good. Definitely Shakira pastry ranks amongst the top 3 middle eastern desserts offering in San Diego. Cake isn't that good compared to sweets even it's very appealing visually. Went here on a Saturday afternoon at 4 for the first time and we were hoping to have a bit more relaxed purchasing experience. We wanted to know desserts flavors and main ingredients since all have pastry dough, pistachios and honey but it seems like store personnel just wanted us to buy something and leave. It's ok though, we can compromise service since food quality is awesome. Will definitely go back for the Baklava.
I went there 8 days ago and brought some sweets to tryAfter that I placed an order for pistachio cake $ (70) dollars i6 picked up the cake and went home after dinner I pulled chicken cake from fridge and put a on table it looked nice from outsidetill I started cutting the cake I cut 2 slices and it felt that I ordered wip cream In the shape of a cake the cream was 30/40 % every body was disappointed with this cake if I knew that I went and bought me 4 cans of wip cream I also did stop by today and told lady who was in front about it and left I don't know if she delivered the complain to the owner or not believe me after that I don'tcare but theyLost agood customer and now neither me or family and friends will never go or recommend this place to anyone we know

Shakira is the go-to store for sweets and pastries. I am in love with the oily halawa. They make it the best in the area. The ladies working there are also very nice and let you try samples of the sweets if you'd like.

This is hands down the best place to get Baklava in San Diego County. I have tried Baklava at Royal Sweets, Sultan Baklava, Baklava King and now Shakira Pastry and I can definitively say that Shakira Pastry is absolutely the best. Their flavors are fresh and delicious. My favorites are their rolled, round and square pistachio Baklava. Everything I have tried here has exceptional depth of flavor. If you like Baklava, this is the place to go to. Period.
