I absolutely love this place. Everything I’ve had here is a 10/10 especially when Tony is making my food. Highly suggest sitting right in front of him for the best experience ever. Already dreaming of my next visit!

I particularly enjoy Taboo for its easily accessible location to Cuyamaca College, the food quality and the portion size. I have been 4 or 5 times at midday, and my favorite dish is the salmon bento lunch special The very adept wait staff helps ensure an enjoyable experience.

I had a takeout from here on December 31st, 2023. Every time I drive by it, I am reminded of how bad the food was. The spicy tuna roll was terrible. The fish was not fresh. I also ordered the chicken katsu. They used fat pieces of chicken breast, lol. It took 20 minutes to fry.

We ordered from DoorDash. I got the tonkotsu ramen which was absolutely disgusting. It tastes like cabbage water. Some of the worst ramen I've ever had I would have preferred the $0.10 packet. My boyfriend got chicken skewers which were dry and equally terrible. I will never be ordering again.

This place surprised me. Our Sushi rolls were very artistic and delicious. I ordered the Hamachi Kama, it took a minute to cook but it was very good.

Food is the worst. Made me sick. Don’t go here unless you like paying over $20 for a meal that makes you sick.
With all the options out there I would save yourself the trouble. Only low sodium soy sauce to start with which is slightly annoying because if I wanted watered down soy sauce I would just add it to regular soy sauce. The hand roll was the smallest hand roll I've ever had out of potentially over a hundred handles in my life. I asked for missago added to my hand roll which they forgot. I had to ask for refills. I wasn't checked on once. The atmosphere was really nice. The design and lay out of the space was very nice. The sticky rice was a 3 and 1/2 out of five. I wouldn't say it was a horrible experience by any measure but mediocre is a term that comes to mind as I sit in the parking lot post meal thinking about my experience. As I said with all the options we have for good sushi in San Diego you probably want to try somewhere else. To the ownership, with just a little bit of tweaking here and there you could easily be a four or a five star. At least give people the option for full sodium soy sauce. I'm not even sure that authentic Japanese would even consider low sodium soy sauce since it's nothing more than watered down soy sauce. As an adult I can choose to just use less if I would like less sodium.

Great quality sushi, expertly made. And the staff is so helpful and knows the menu. Our waitress even explained the difference tasting notes in the saki choices! Great place!

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in East county! The food is amazing, the chef's definitely know what they're doing, they're quick, polite, friendly and great at what they do!
Only problem from time to time is the service. Lots of teenage servers but they aren't all very attentive. Granted, it's probably most of their first job's but trying to get their attention shouldn't be that tough.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of options for non sushi eaters, teriyaki chicken, ramen, fried rice and simple things.
