Wonderful mi hijo. Great food, the warmest host, reasonably priced. I usually take it to go or eat outside. M favorite Mexican place in El Cajon.

Tried Taco Express while on a day trip to the San Diego area and was thrilled to find a family-owned, super-autentico Mexican restaurant. The owner is very friendly, calling everyone "amigos" and making us feel right at home. The burrito al pastor was yummy, and the varied menu offers pretty much any kind of Mexican dish one could want. There are a few booths inside and some tables on the outside patio and the owner made sure everyone was comfortable and happy throughout the meal. Definitely will be back!

The food is delicious and very reasonably priced and the service is top notch as the owner acts more like a long time friend welcoming you into his home. The business hours aren't the most flexible but to be honest going here shouldn't be your average taco shop experience. It is far superior.Dietary restrictions: The owner was more than willing to accommodate changing out the meat for the nachos.

Just had my first visit after driving by several times and always seeing the sign. I went in and was immediately greeted by the owner. He was extremely nice and I instantly felt at home. I asked what he recommended and ended up getting an adobada, asada, and carnitas taco. The adobada might be my new favorite. I had gone to another shop and they had my favorite but I believe they switched owners and the flavors were not the same. The tacos are a generous serving and I ordered a side of rice and a side of beans. The rice was really flavorful and had great tomato elements. I had the green salsa with everything and it was flavorful and not too hot. I look forward to trying new dishes at this shop.

Can I give more than 5 stars??? This little hidden gem is amazing! I found this place by luck while looking for good albondigas soup - was it good? Nope, it was great!! Best albondigas I have ever had. So good, in fact, that (embarrassingly enough) I have been back almost every single day for the last month for soup at lunchtime. The owner is so nice, and you just feel welcome, and he really seems to appreciate his customers. My husband has tried the rolled tacos, the carne asada fries, and the California burrito and said they were all super good. Great tamales and enchiladas, too!! Looking for A+++ food? Look no further!!

If you are reading this, don't wait. You need to come here now! If your sick of paying 15 bucks for a burrito that looks like a hot pocket, than you have found the right place. Stop waisting your money at other taco shops. You need to come here. This is a real east county hidden Gem. Fantastic service with a friendly face. Good portions that back up the price. They're not trying to swindle you out of a dollar. Family owned business, here to service their community (friends and neighbors.)

This is a family owned, Hispanic Mexican food restaurant. Cecil the owner is very nice and polite and very accommodating. They will make your food: to your order. They make special items. Been going here since it was tamale factory years ago. [email protected]

First time eating here. It doesn't look like much because it looks like a house that was converted to a restaurant. The owner was wonderful. You can tell he cares about his business. The food was also good. We had the adobada , and Al pastor tacos. They were delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I live down the street and always wanted to stop in! Well I did today and I have to say the guy who answered the phone was amazing!! You don’t hear people too happy about their job but this guy loves his! Customer service like that just makes you want to come back! I always get Carne Asada Fries and the meat was seasoned perfectly.?I like the type of fries they used too! Stop and check them out, they’ll probably make your day. Sorry no pics this time. I’ll try and take some next time before devouring my food. ?
