If I could leave no stars I would.
Our waiter was Laura . She walked to the table with attitude and said “what do you want to order” We told her we’d like to sit and enjoy our flights for a minute and then will place our order. She clearly didn’t like that response rolled her eyes and walked away. We sat with empty glasses for over 40 minutes as she ignored our table and serviced every table around us. No look, no acknowledgment, NOTHING. Not even the opportunity to flag her down.
I had to walk up to the hostess counter inside to get a check and they took forever to find my order and then had to hunt down the waiter who was no where to be found because my order wasn’t in the system and she didn’t believe me when I told her what we ordered .
I was then charged DOUBLE for the flights because I didn’t “dine in” when we planned on eating there we just never got the opportunity to place an order after sitting for over an hour . I stated we planned on dinning here but you (Laura) never returned , her response was “well you never told me you were ready” my mom responded “were we suppose to yell at you from across the restaurant” and again another eye roll from waiter .
I take my family here ALL the time and have never received this type of service .
I have patience I don’t mind waiting but after being completely ignored , and watching others receive service and attention and it WASN’T a busy peak hour with plenty of tables open there is no excuse we were ignored CLEARLY on purpose all because I wanted to enjoy a drink and converse with my parents before ordering food.
After complaining at the front desk the guests behind us told us they were in line to complain about the SAME waiter with the same complaints
I like the food but for me the yolk was sweet to my surprise but I like it I got the ranchero eggs Benedict I think that the corn bread and egg were good together

Inconsistent - been here over 6 times. Sometimes everything is hot and tastes great with great service. Other days like today we waited 40 minutes to be served after ordering. All the food was either cold, overcooked, undercooked, or a combination of them. Waitress was very absent. The kitchen got backed up so they started piling plates up with the food on them, so food was touching the bottoms of other plates while sitting to get cold. Between the screaming children that no one seemed to mind and the cold food we waited 40 minutes for I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Service was great , kitchen felt short . I asked for a skillet chorizo hash . No skillet zero chorizo had to ask for more , no onions and uncooked potatoes. Do your self a favor and just don’t come to this place and spend 80 dollars on a family meal when you can get literally anything better anywhere else.

Worst breakfast. American breakfast and Mexican breakfast. Both were bad. French toast was bland and limp and barely dipped in eggs. No flavor. No vanilla or cinnamon in eggs before cooking. Bacon tasted like bland leather. Wevos rancheros wasn't great either. Servers couldn't care less.
I'll never go back again. And it was my birthday breakfast from my brother.

My wife and I went to this Broken Yolk in Rancho San Diego for the first time. It was my wife's Birthday I suggested McDonalds (Ha, Ha) and she wanted to try the Broken Yolk. We are glad we did. The food was excellent and lots of it they don't skimp on the portions. My wife had Eggs Benedict made two ways with Home fries, Biscuits and Gravy and Bloody Mary's. I had the Corned Beef Hash Skillet, a side order of Hash Browns, and we shared the Stuffed French Toast and a Lemon Ricotta Pancake. Oink! There was so much food we had to take a lot of it home which was OK by us. I also got a Wild West Burger and Fries to take home. Took a few bites already and it is scrumptious. It was worth every penny.
All the employees were super nice and made sure you got what you needed without any kind of an attitude (Like some places do)
We were impressed with all of them especially Yolanda who is the Manager. Even though she is a manager she was taking orders and serving right along with all the other people working.
A huge shout out to Yolanda and crew for making my wife's Birthday a little more special with the nice extra you made. It was really good.
If you haven't tried The Broken Yolk, give it a try especially this one. We will eat there again.
Parking: Plenty of parking right in front.

The food is great! I love the omelets, and my husband always orders the huevos rancheros! They have a lot of variety of drinks!
You have to go and try some of the pancakes too! So delicious ?

Everything is great! Food, service and atmosphere. There's a tendency the place could get hot, especially on summer time.

This is a decent breakfast spot. A lot of options to choose from. I ordered the Meat Lover's Skillet. Overall it was really good, however my country potatoes were slightly uncooked...

I honestly do not understand the hype with this place. I've been here a few times and I remembered actually liking the food maybe once or twice, it's usually bland, but last time I was there it was BAD. I ordered the Ranchero skillet: the potatoes were raw, it had way too much onion, I put a bunch of salt to get some flavor but all I could taste was onion and a little bit of chorizo. Even the coffee was bad, my iced mocha tasted like regular coffee with a hint of chocolate syrup not at all like an iced mocha. The service has always been great, but the food is not worth it.

Broken Yolk is our go to breakfast place. In general the food and service are good. I always order biscuits and gravy, and I'm noticing that the gravy is not covering the biscuits, so towards the end you end up eating dry biscuits.
