They seated us outside with our dog. Brought her a few dog treats. Burger was exquisite. Wife got the odd pancake meal and it knocked our socks off! I would order that next time. Great food, but the lovely servers made the meal.

I'm a big fan of no brightness (sour notes -- admittedly this is a matter of personal taste).+++ Service was just the right pace with our servers checking in but leaving us to our conversation. Helpful with suggestions. And if the place isn't busy, they'll let us sit and have a great conversation past our food being done. This is where that great coffee comes in play -- great conversation + great coffee? The best.++ Food was great -- chorizo scramble is a solid standby that I order when I don't want to think but have tried 3 or 4 others and they're all good. Plus, huge portinos.+++ And seriously, a huge platter of chorizo, black beans, fresh tomatoes mixed in for $13? Really feels like a time machine.++ Cute, clean interior. Good mix of people eating there. Lots of elderly which I personally love.+ And bonus points for setting up a cute outdoor space under a tent in the parking lot during COVID times. Much appreciated.

This place has such huge portions & reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went for breakfast and it was amazing!
Great diner feel. Food was good (just make sure you are good with onions - they seem to be in just about every dish and the breakfast potatoes were about 50% onions). Staff were friendly and service was quick.

Went last month and was disappointed.. Seemingly unclean place and inedible food. All the food was cold and undercooked. Biscuits taste like cardboard and are dry. Maybe it was just a bad day but will not be returning ☹️

I was searching for a great breakfast place and tried H & J's:I was impressed by H&J's combination of great, moist, home fries and excellent omelette (bacon and aged white cheddar). Large freshly squeezed OJ was on point. Biscuits great, service flawless. I recommend strongly, particularly if you like a breakfast joint with local flavor.

Wish they would do some cleanup around the restaurant. Sidewalk is getting deep with leaves and trash. Really looks bad. At least the previous ownership kept things clean.
