Not good anymore. I really liked this place when they opened but the last few time i went the food was not good. The quality of the meat in the ramen is terrible. Its more fat and connective tissue more than actual meat. I dont know what happened because I used to love this place, but no more. Il stick to pre made ramen over this

The Black Garlic ramen is my favorite. The broth, pork slices, roasted garlic and soft egg are melt in your mouth fantastic ! Even the bamboo shoots have a beautiful texture and flavor. The place is plain but very clean inside. Owners seem very nice.

Cute place to drop by for snacks,food and more! Reasonable prices and food came out relatively fast. It took about 10-15 minutes for our food. The portions are pretty generous and the food tastes decent. The inside is pretty well kept overall. Nice place to drop by for some casual dining or snacking with loved ones. The plaza does get a bit busy so parking can take a few minutes to find but otherwise has lots of businesses to look around at in the area!

I had the roasted pork special. They completely forgot to make my order. It did arrive promptly after I pursued the issue and they discovered the error. The quality of the pork and rice was average. She said it would have peas and carrots in it, but it only had green onions. The dining room was cold. They did not have napkins in a self-serve format, and they use plastic utensils. All in all quite the disappointing experience.

Fabulous Ramen joint in the Plaza; the Crab Rangoon are phenomenal, as is the Veggie Ramen!! You will not be disappointed coming here; be it for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!!!
No time to sit for ramen and got curry katsu to go. Lots of rice - a bit overcooked - and a good amount of pork, the tiniest portion of pickles.. easily missed if you're not looking.They give a small portion of curry on the side for to-go orders (thank you!) and charge for requests for extra.The crunch on the pork was still good after the drive and the curry was okay. They have varying degrees of heat for the curry - I ordered medium, which was not very spicy at all.I'd give this place another try at some point.Parking: Located at one edge of El Cerrito Plaza so lots of free parking

I ordered the beef curry bowl with a medium spice level. I was not impressed at all. It was so plain. There were no vegetables like onion and potatoes that I'm used to having in my curry. It only had 2 slivers of carrots. So basically just beef and an inadequate amount of curry sauce. It also was not spicy at all. I won't be back.

A cold night in ALWAYS warrants a warm bowl of ramen. I wanted to order from one of the many local ramen places near me. I decided to try out Kyoto Ramen. I ordered the seafood ramen and a side of tofu. If you want to add extra toppings in your soup, you will be charged. The portion was more than enough for one person. The broth was flavorful on its own. To be honest , there wasn't much seafood so I had to pay for additional toppings. The ramen altogether was great. I dipped my tofu in the broth as well. I would like to try other ramen options from this restaurant.

Wanted to eat at Waikiki Hawaiian BBQ but they were closed, saw Kyoto Ramen on Yelp. Ordered the beef curry and thought Mmm okay this looks good, but negative. As you can see they use the sliced beef from their BBQ Beef plate. It really didn't go with the curry as the usual cubed beef would've been a lot better. When I eat curry I always taste the sauce by itself and really couldn't taste the curry. Must say the portion size are a very good value as with todays average $15 plate prices.
