Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop - El Cerrito, CA

I went here to get a hang loose sandwich. The lady did not know what she was doing. I seen her grab roast beef I asked her the Hang loose Comes with pastrami right. She said yes so I assumed she was putting roast beef on a different sandwich but no I unwrapped it and she used the roast beef on mine when I specifically asked her! Also asked me what I want on the sandwich I said only mayo and mustard I said it twice! No she put the works! I unfortunately didn’t open my sandwich till I came back to work very disappointed I will not recommend this location to any of my colleagues. Please double check your orders at this location.

Best subs I have had in a while. The people were awesome and fulfilled my order with excellence. Prasiddha did a great job taking care of my food. 10/10 highly recommended.

Place was really good in the beginning but I don't know what happened. The owners got lazy stopped coming in or they changed owners, the quality has dropped dramatically.

Kind of a hidden gem in my opinion. The sandwiches are delicious, there are options for everyone (wraps, salads, sandwiches), and everything is decently priced. The staff is really friendly, and helpful, I've always left feeling good about my visit. Atmosphere is meh, but the staff boosts the rating I think. Parking in front is limited but there is decent parking within a block or so.

I paid 25 DOLLARS 🤯 for the worst BLT of my life here and I’m so disappointed. First off, I paid for extra bacon, which they did not add. They also did not toast the bread at all. They basically made me a bread and lettuce sandwich for 25 DOLLARS. Mr Pickles used to make the best BLTs, loaded with bacon. I don’t think I’ll ever come back here. The prices are absolutely insane for the quality—it cost $67 for 3 sandwiches. Never again.

I have celiac disease and this location did a great job with my order. The employee who made my sandwich wiped down the counter and got fresh ingredients from the back to lessen risk of cross contamination. 4 stars because it was expensive for a very average gluten free wrap, but I’m very satisfied with my experience here

Very expensive for the taste

No working restroom, stale cookies, staff isn’t friendly and the place is just dirty.

I would not be writing such a negative review if I had not had multiple disappointing experiences with the staff. I love Mr. Pickles, and have had positive experiences in the San Rafael and Concord locations. However, every time I go to the El Cerrito location and order a gluten free wrap, a couple of the staff members who help me will complain quietly to themselves about my order. How it’s more difficult and they don’t want to do it. Overall, very unfriendly and they don’t look like they want to be there. Since it’s happened on several occasions, it makes me expect this type of behavior the next time I go.

I wanted to have a better experience than my last. My wife wanted to go so I decided to give it another. In my last experience I was the only customer in the store and had to wait at least 5 min without being greeted by any of the 3 employees working that day. I just left. Today we got greeted by all three employees. Starting off great I thought. We were waiting a short wait while the other two employees were finishing up online orders I assume. One asked my wife what did she want, as she was taking her order, another customer walked in and the other employee never asked me if I was ready to order. No acknowledgment at all and proceeded to help the new customer. The third employee walked back in and also another customer. Still no acknowledgment, didn’t ask who next just assumed they were next. I left and will never come back. Very poor communication and customer service!

The sandwiches are very good. The only issue is the bread is hard so if you like cold sandwiches I wouldn't recommend.
