My beef should last extra long, because it was packed in the future! A lot of the meats I saw today (11/18/20) were marked with tomorrow's date (11/19/20). Aside from the lines and some iffy produce, I don't like how this store's hot items (like rotisserie chickens) never seem to have times marked on them. They're typically dry, probably from being out all day.

Decided to give Safeway in-line another chance to make pick as easy as picking up. But no if I can give it no starts I would. I get a message saying my delivery is ready at 12 noon I don't make it to the store until 4:40 and call the number and no one answer. So I have to call the store to get online on the phone. When she finally bring her slow walking self out she don't have the machine in which I can pay. I will be talking my online pick service else where because Safeway have some odds and ends to get together.

I waited in the deli line to purchase the trio salad with bread they charged me $7.00 at this store. This same trio in San Francisco cost me $5.00. The other woman does chicken only. This is around 4:45 pm, on Sunday. The other lady sliced the meat and held a long conversation with a customer. The line kept getting longer.

Refused to make me a sandwich with sourdough bread. How is there a whole bread wall and I can't even get a vegan (Sourdough is vegan) sandwich? I worked at Safeway for years and would have easily had a manager sign off on a shelf bread. I stroll over to bakery to pick up a cake we already ordered, 20 minutes later my cake is boxed and ready. Thank you I guess. It's a big no from me for customer service. They must not get secret shoppers here at all

Horrible store, long lines at checkout and all the hard liquor is locked up. I had to wait for the guy to get me the gin and then he wouldn't let me touch it. He brought it to the checkout and then I had to search for it at checkout, ugh. I guess this is how they treat Richmond residents. Ugh, won't return.

This is the worst store for Drive Up and Go service. They will text you to come in and you park at a stall , call them , then an hour later they come out with your order! Good luck if your ordered items are complete. That just doesn't happen. The phones are mostly busy no matter what time of the day you come in and they don't care. Poor service for an establishment that has a good reputation for their groceries. I had a greater experience during the time earlier time of covid. Now it seems as though no matter what time of the day I stop by to get a pickup the standards of poor service remains. I'm not sure if it's because of low staffing but they need to fix their system that's obviously broken.

I called ahead to see if they had something very specific that some stores don't carry. The phone tree carried me thru a whole journey all the way back to the original message when you call the store in the first place.

I have shopped at many Safeways throughout the years, but this one is the worst (that's still standing). It is ALWAYS packed, and now with Covid the lines are ludicrous. Half the time the check-out person also has to bag. They lock up all medical goods, and you have to first hunt down an employee, then they call someone over the p.a. system to come and open it and maybe, 10 minutes later they unlock the aspirin. There is a simple solution for all of this, hire more people. If there's an issue with theft, hire more people. I schlep all the way to Albany to shop at that Safeway, and it's worth the drive.

I ordered food $145 in food 5 days ago. We went to pick it up tonight at 7. That's when it shows that practically everything was not available. What was was substituted. You were still open so I decided to go inside while my husband waited for them to bring them out. Much to my surprise you had everything I ordered and more!!!!! What was the point of ordering food and waiting 5 days for it. Your system is messed up like the cashier said. I know it's a stressful time but that was a stressful 2 hours.

Went to pick up Drive Up & Go order. Called the phone number posted by the designated parking station. Got a recorded message that number was not in service. This meant I had to go inside the store (which defeats the reason for using Drive Up & Go) to pick up my order. Safeway was unable to find my order. After waiting 50 minutes while they kept trying to locate my order I left. This is a Trump level of incompetence.

Cashier is hella Ghetto 03172020. I just asked her if she can call someone in the Customer Service because it's look like no one in their and she give a attitude. I like the place but the worker need to be retrain, about their attitude.

This is what I suppose they call a mega Safeway. Huge wide isles, bulk areas, a full deli, bakery etc. But in this case, size does matter. Because when you have to cross the store multiple time to get related items groups in some alternative universe of logical methodology it creates just enough anxiety! it pays to have a Fitbit! You know peanut butter not near jelly and nowhere near bread, sliced cheese separately from blocks of cheese. But the clincher The attitudes of the staff.... mmmm lets just say I was treated way better at the DMV down the street. "That's not my department sir I have no idea where basil is." Attitudes. I've seen staff coping a tude; hands on hips, nine inch nail wearing- pointed finger waving, head bobbing in a challenging way, arched fake eyebrows.... you get the picture, as some poor customer with English that isn't even a second language.... more like whale sounds, can't relate. So the clerk yells it slowly annunciating each syllable as if THAT was going to make English more understandable. Sometimes it's not the staffs fault. Sometimes folks with nothing else to do but try to impose their miserable existence on others, think the check out line is a great forum to announce the inequalities of the system that discriminates against (fill in the blank) their maladies , disabilities , disenfranchisement , discrimination around whatever affliction they have. And how it's the fault of the check out clerk that the hormones shots not covered by Medicare to change sexual orientation are so expensive that there is not enough money to buy milk and eggs, as they rummage through a junk filled purse with multiple pockets and obviously none containing money. That's sad, not necessarily inconvenient. But to not open up other lanes to allow other customers to simply do what they come to Safeway to do, purchase stuff and leave is what upsets me. No initiative from other crew workers to open up another lane. Is it union rules, laziness, or are they so embroiled in the spectacle as a by stander that they forget they are at work? I don't expect a trip to the grocery store to be a pathway to reach nirvana. However when it creates enough anxiety about where items are, how long the lines are, how the staff could care less if you were Dwayne Johnson buying a protein shake or a homeless person trying to negotiate a free muffin to feed his too cute ragamuffin dog chained outside within full view of the check out line. Life's stressful enough, and there are so many other choices.

Only speaking for the bakery section. I came in 2 days before I needed my order to get a cake. The worker, I didnt catch her name was very helpful. I ordered a decorated cake that I wanted to add toys to so I had a specific idea and explained to her how I wanted it and she knew exactly what I wanted. I also ordered 20 cupcakes in different flavors and colored frosted, she wrote everything done for me. I picked up my order 2 days later and I was so happy how it turned out. It was so cute and I was glad I went there to get my cake. Everyone at party commented how cute and moist the cake was ( got chocolate cake with fresh strawberries) I will continue to make future cake orders there!
