We aimed to go to Elevation 66 but it was closed for a private party. Ironically, my folks were invited to that party but my friends and I were tragically not. So we needed a wine bar and pronto. Tried to go to the new Banter Wine bar but it's closed on Sundays? That's dumb. People drink on Sundays and FYI, they drink after 9pm too. So we headed to the Scene Wine Bar which is in the same building as the very cool Rialto Cinemas Cerrito on San Pablo. This movie theater is amazing, because you can order food and drink from the Scene Wine Bar and kitchen below and enjoy it in the theater. Pizzas, beer.... So sad but the last movie I saw there was Lincoln in 2012 with my parents and hubby. We didn't know at the time that my mom was already on the path of dementia, oh how blissfully ignorant we were. Fast forward to my friends and I needing a drink and munchies ASAP. Scene Wine Bar did not disappoint! We enjoyed a couple bottles of wine, Brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, hummus plate, cheese quesadillas and chicken fingers with tater tots. And endless conversation that you can only enjoy with your closest friends. The bartender was terrific and totally accomodated our weird requests of bacon on the side so our one vegetarian friend could enjoy all the deviled egg deliciousness. Although we made her pick out the prociutto from the Brussels sprouts. :) Great place and we will definitely be back, with or without a movie.

I just left the Scene Wine Bar in frustration. When I entered, the bartender took a while to acknowledge me even though there was only one other person there. When she finally acknowledged me, I let her know that I wanted to purchase a bottle of the Rosatello Sweet Rose which was listed on the menu for $28. When she brought the receipt, the total was for $39. I pointed out to the bartender that the wine was listed on the menu for $28 and she said it was a typo. She refused to honor the price listed on the menu saying that she doesn't, "...have a button on the register for $28". I asked to speak with the manager and she identified herself as the manager. Since her service was already subpar, I asked for a refund and left

We love this place! Connected to the Cerrito Theater, but with better food and drink. Great staff, sweet intimate setting, and a lovely spot for a drink and a bite. Tonight we had the mushroom flatbread and roasted brussel sprouts, Denoginizer beer (one of the best IPAs ever), were served by the lovely Kate, and had a great relaxed Thursday evening. Do not fret you carnivores, they have plenty of meat options too. Pro tip: you can order from Scene for your movie...

Called and asked their hours of operation. Was told the venue was open so I walked with my friend half a mile to find out the venue was indeed "open" but there was no one attending to the bar. Lights were off but door leading to movie theater was propped open. Shame. We were in the mood for some wine. Thanks for wasting our time and energy.

Cute little place in a friendly neighborhood. Unpretentious, simple yet decent wine selection, friendly and helpful staff, what more can you ask for? (Eric the wine bar staff is AWESOME!)

They have some decent wines I like at decent prices. I have had a panini here but I often get one of the flat bread pizza's. Sometimes the pizza is a bit lack luster in flavour but it is usually pretty decent. I like this place because it is uncrowded and I get good service. Atmosphere is comfortable and either Brett or Eric do a great job serving up the wine and food.

The barista was very personable, but not only made the worst cappuccino I've ever experienced, he smugly remarked on how everyone else makes them incorrectly. He said that a real cappuccino is just a shot plus a little foamed milk on top, that it becomes a latte if you put steamed milk in it. He is incorrect. So, I got a lukewarm shot of espresso with some very lackadaisically foamed milk on top. But the worst part was getting to the bottom of the cup, where there were shell remains of coffee beans rolling around in the sludge. I love this theater, but if I'm going to put up with a know-it-all barista, the coffee better kick a***

A cosy little place with a nice wine selection and decent food. From wines - my faves are the Sangiovese (forgot the brand) and the Picket Fence Pinot Noir. A rarity in this area - charcuterie and cheese plates, both quite nice, or you can have a combination. Flatbreads and paninis are pretty solid (they have a panini with Proscuitto and fig jam!), and side salad with mango dressing is to die for! Plus you can also order from the movie theater menu, including the beers. Not bad, but wish the place was bigger so it'd be good for groups.
