I stopped by Tasty Sichuan in El Cerrito today and tried the Wild Chili & Cilantro Beef — wow, it was so good! The beef was tender, the celery and cilantro were super fresh, and the flavor was amazing. Really fragrant and really satisfying.
I usually only finish one bowl of rice, but today the dish was so delicious that I ended up eating two bowls! Totally worth it — I was happily stuffed.
Highly recommend this dish to anyone who loves good food. Easy 5 stars!
This QIAO-JIAO beef hot pot soup is really good! (蹺腳牛肉湯/牛雜湯） It's light and naturally sweet, tasting very much like the flavor I remember having in Taiwan.
Moreover, the owner is very thoughtful; they even asked us if we liked it and seemed worried about not getting it right. But surprisingly, I loved it!!!! this is the exact flavor I've been searching for.
In addition, I highly recommend the stir-fried shredded mixed mushrooms (炒雜菌香菇). It's not too salty, but incredibly fragrant and perfect with rice, which made me finish the entire bowl.
The menu also features Szechuan pickled glass fish fillets(酸菜皖魚); it's not fishy at all and has a great crunchy texture, it’s a very unique taste.
Eating here feels like coming home, and the service is also very comfortable. This is a newly opened shop, and as a picky Taiwanese person, I approve!
Finally, I got an order of stir-fried rice noodles with shrimp (米粉炒蝦) to take away. If you love garlic flavor, this will absolutely be your new favorite!

I was looking for a Chinese restaurant for lunch. And past by this restaurant. There were some people eating there. So I decided to give it a try. I ordered Qiaojiao Beef Hot Pot and Grass Fish Fillet and rice. Both dishes are delicious. The portions are great. The service is excellent. The waitress keeps asking me if I need more rice. The atmosphere is nice and friendly. Over all, I give it a five star. Definitely I will come back with my family and friends to try other dishes.

I got take out but the staff was friendly! Ideally they would allow for online order nor was there a number to call so I had to go in person to order.
Would’ve been nice to be offered some tea or water but they’re new and still getting situated.
The space is a lot brighter than it used to be & better insulated— prior to this restaurant it was dark and drafty and so I wasn’t inclined to dine in, the food (take out) was good, I wouldn’t be opposed to coming back with the family try it out in person!

What a fantastic new spot! I’m really impressed with this restaurant. The fish and noodles was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor, and you can tell the team put a lot of heart into every dish. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and really attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
For a brand-new ，SICHUAN restaurant, everything was surprisingly smooth — clean environment, fast service, and great presentation. I’m excited to see this place grow, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
