This was our first time eating at Tigon and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious. It's got a great family atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. We'll be going back again soon.

I was looking forward to trying this place but unfortunately the food is just not very good. Bland. Doesn't taste like authentic Vietnamese. And it is overpriced. Service is fast and the atmosphere is nice but those are about the only positives.

Beautiful space with fun decorations. The food is pretty simple and well...kind of boring and uninspired. And not inexpensive at all. Sparse service during the meal. We waited for quite some time to get our check and had to flag someone down and they they told us we had to go to the counter to pay. This would have been nice to know. Also please fix the damn benches so when the person sits down at the booth behind you you don't jump up in the air like a see saw. This was really annoying.

Had the won ton soup for lunch. Broth is nice and garlicky. Won tons doughy with meager tasteless filling.

Good is excellent. Very flavorful. In rainy days or cold days bring a jacket because inside can be very cold.

The high rating is baffling. The good: nice decor, very big portionsThe bad: flavorless food, innatentive service, borderline rude, severely overpricedSimultaneously the least flavorful and most expensive pho I've ever had. There are much better options within a half mile radius. Go to any of those places for better food, at a better price, with friendlier staff.

Well-appointed venue with a family feel. We had the vermicelli, the papaya salad, beef pho, and the eggplant. I especially loved the pho. The servers were really attentive but I wasn't sure they understood that I can't eat soy sauce when I told them I have a wheat allergy and the eggplant seemed to have soy sauce. Maybe they used tamari but I wasn't sure so I stopped eating it.Would definitely be 5 stars if they would label their menu for the main allergens.

This is a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. I love that it's a family affair and everyone (even the younger kids) help out, so it feels very kid-friendly too. The food is very good, our favorites are the crab fried rice, the crispy shrimp rolls and the special ribs.

Love that Tigon is so family friend and family run. I go often for the chicken pho, fresh rolls and occasionally the won ton soup. The prices are reasonable and the service is always friendly.

Good ambiance. If you like vegetables and plenty of em, this is the place for you. It’s a bit pricey. Food is decent. Looking forward to trying out Pho soups on my next visit.

It is 3 pm, rainy and I would love some pho. Tigon I have never been to next to El cerrito theater. I have been in this space many times over the years, music, dancing, etc. The chicken pho arrived quickly and is absolutely perfect! The pieces of chicken breast perfect! I hope Thant they can survive the difficulties of such a big space. I will be back.

I was super craving a good Vietnamese restaurant the past couple of weeks and saw on KQED's IG page Tigon's banh hoi was voted best one of the best dishes in 2023. Unfortunately I was not able to try because this dish feeds 2+ people and I was a party of one. I ordered their vermicelli bowl with tofu and shrimp cake and it was delicious, nearly killed it the entire bowl. Service was on point and my server was very patient with my questions on the menu. Also this place is great to hold get togethers, birthdays, christenings, they definitely have the space.

I hadn’t been in awhile & was wishing there were a good pho place around, so decided to give Tigon a go, after a bit of time has passed.I am so glad I did! It surpassed my expectations in all areas. Delicious, artful, fresh, good size portions and value, and very friendly and attentive service. A bonus, for me, is getting to sit along San Pablo Avenue at a busy intersection and watch the world go by. Lots of seating options and traditional decorations —booths, window seats, large group tables. Thoughtful touches, such as spoon that has a small curve that hooks on the side of the pho bowl!I was hankering for meat, so ordered a build your own beef pho. And, Vietnamese rolls. Everything was so fresh! The menu includes many vegetarian options, too, which is sometimes what I hanker for!I am so happy they are here and seem to be doing well! The restaurant was fairly busy. Would be a great place to meet friends before or after a movie!

Nice space, inattentive service, mediocre food (especially if ordering fish or vegetarian), extremely overpriced for quality.
