We came from out of town to celebrate my son’s 40th Bday for the weekend in Half Moon Bay. After eating seafood the night before we decided to try this bbq place. OMG! It did not disappoint! The bbq brisket was honestly the BEST we’ve EVER had. The ribs, were amazing & the brisket sandwich was just melting in my mouth. I mean this food was so delicious, fresh, and quite affordable. The restaurant is casual and clean but for me personally it was a bit loud only because of the live music. The music was great and I did enjoy it but if you want to talk to people it’s a little hard. Other than that the chef is really great! He gave my son complimentary slices of brisket & the most delicious brownies/cake to take for his birthday. The cashier was very helpful since it was our first visit. It’s DEFINITELY NOT our last. I had to call that night to let someone know how good everything was. I can’t wait to come back here.

We were able to grab a seat up at the bar. Both bartenders on duty were super sweet and fun. The staff in general here were all so welcoming, pleasant, and helpful.
The brisket is pretty dang good. Juicy and flavorful with that yummy crust on it. Of all the bbq places in a 50 mile radius, this one is up there in taste and quality. Thumbs up on the chunky potato salad, cheesy mac, and chili sides. The sauces are unique too. I think one of them was carrot based?

I´ve been to the new spot 5 times now, with only 2 being worth the hype and trip. Very inconsistent food and service and when it is crowded or they have music playing it is SO loud because of the concrete floor and lack of sound dampners. Last time got a brisket sandwich and side of fries for $28 with tax and tip and left hungry afterwords because they now put cheese on the sandwich and less brisket.

I finally got to try it today. This BBQ immediately reminds me of Iron Works BBQ in Austin, TX. For those who don't know, Iron Works BBQ is the benchmark I use for authentic Texas BBQ! It is not flashy, fancy or overly rich, but it is straight up unpretentious good ol' Texas BBQ. The music they play is on point too, love it!

I ordered a brisket sandwich and they gave me a sandwich with shredded ground beef for $17. I wish they would’ve told me they ran out of brisket so I would have ordered something else, super disappointed. Service was also very slow. The old location was so much better, always had good food and great service, not coming back even though it’s down the street.
The sides were fantastic. The BBQ was, by my admittedly very high BBQ standards, good but not great.
The brisket was dense, had a nice bark, and was tasty, but didn't achieve the tenderness of excellent brisket. I wanted to love it but could only like it. Don't get me wrong, I'd eat there if I was going to be on that side of the peninsula, but I wouldn't go there for that alone.

Had a great time here kicking off our 35th wedding anniversary week. I had the Pascale salad with brisket, my wife had the brisket sandwich with cheese and fries. The bare bottle Big Sur IPA went very well with both entrees. George, Kelly and Angie were a lot of fun. Introduced George to the Untapped app, so that Breakwater Barbecue could be a verified location. While my wife spoke about how we made it to 35 years. We're definitely coming here again! Thanks for a great start to our anniversary week.
